Transforming Public Services in #Zhytomyr: A Lifeline Amidst Wartime Challenges Despite the ongoing hardships caused by #russian aggression, access to public services remains crucial for the survival of #Ukrainian citizens. With the support of the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV), the eGA team has embarked on a mission to enhance public service delivery in the #Zhytomyr region, an area receiving special attention from #Estonia for its war recovery efforts. Our project focuses on empowering Zhytomyr's administrative service centre employees through comprehensive #digitalskills training and the introduction of a video consultation service. This innovation will allow citizens to access essential public services remotely, ensuring their safety and convenience even in these trying times. In the face of wartime challenges, like blackouts, air alerts, and bombings, our dedicated team in Estonia and Ukraine led by Piret Saartee is committed to maintaining the availability of critical #publicservices. We stand ready to tackle these challenges head-on, ensuring that citizens receive uninterrupted support. While our immediate efforts target the hromadas and cities of the Zhytomyr oblast, the project's success will serve as a scalable model to bolster digital public service capacities across other Ukrainian regions. Together, we can ensure that vital public services remain a beacon of hope and stability for all Ukrainians. Slava Ukraini! #publicservices #standwithukraine #serviceprovision #publicservisedelivery

Presented at the Stockholm Internet Forum for Internet Freedom in Myanmar last year, I highlighted the escalating challenges that continue to plague the country's digital landscape. The situation has deteriorated significantly since then, underscoring the urgent need for ongoing dialogue and action. As internet restrictions tighten and digital rights violations persist under the military junta, it's crucial to keep advocating for transparency, freedom of expression, and access to information. #FOE

At the end of our #ClassACTHR73Forum on Ukraine, Mark Cancian '73 offered the Call to ClassACTion to be aware of the true numbers behind our aid to Ukraine: US spending on Ukraine is 8% of what we spent on defense during this last 18 month period, and less than what we spent in 1 year in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also, 60% of what we spend is spent in the United States, and no American lives are at stake in this war. It is important to be aware of these numbers. Learn more at the link!

Through strategic messaging and #influenceoperations on various traditional & social media platforms, Russia aims to undermine support for Kyiv and erode Ukraine's perception on the world stage. Fascinating read from the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab) on Russian tactics across the #informationenvrionment.
