Interesting read indeed! I am pleased to have been involved in the research and implementation of linking Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) to Integrated Community Case Management (ICCM) in Isiolo County. Community Health Promoters (CHPs) are integral to reducing childhood mortality and morbidity through the ICCM approach. The integration of CMAM into ICCM not only enhances the coverage for Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) but also demonstrates positive progress in IMAM performance indicators. The development of a policy for the management of child wasting will be a significant advancement for Kenya, facilitating political buy-in and financial allocation for Community Health Strategy (CHS) prioritization and Health System strengthening.
Community Health Promoters can, only if well supported. That is the whole essence of our paper. Wish you an interesting read.....
