Dawn Hale, our Quality Director at Next Step Apprenticeships, recently attended the inaugural FE Skills Providers Forum. This important event, which was chaired by Bella Sankey, the Leader of Brighton & Hove City Council, brought together key figures from the Further Education and skills sector to address pressing challenges and opportunities in the region. During the meeting, the discussion centred around the skills gaps currently faced by employers and learners in the Brighton & Hove area. Attendees explored not only the challenges but also the exciting opportunities for improvement and growth in the sector. With the job market evolving rapidly, the forum provided a platform for collaboration between education providers, local businesses, and government representatives. Dawn represented Next Step Apprenticeships by sharing insights on the critical role apprenticeships play in developing a skilled workforce. She also highlighted how our commitment to quality training can help address the skills shortages and provide real career opportunities for young people and job seekers in the area. Moving forward, the forum opened up discussions about how to better support both apprentices and employers, and how partnerships like ours can continue to contribute to the region’s economic development. And let's not forget the remarkable achievements of Pearson apprentices, who attained an impressive 98% overall pass rate in 2023. This is a clear indicator of the quality and dedication inherent in these programs.
