In environments such as within a F1 racetrack safety is crucial, the drainage installed is no exception. We have seen unfortunate occurrences recently where the grating covers of third-party drainage have failed and come loose. This can provide costly delays to races and more importantly a serious risk hazard. By specifying a drainage channel that caters to the specific requirements needed for a racetrack, future hazards from the drainage can be prevented. A great example of this is at the Circuit of The Americas in Texas. ACO Qmax® was installed to offer a system that overcomes these hurdles. The core of the Qmax channel is installed underneath the surface, while the cover does not use a grated system which prevents the risk of the loose gratings. This is Wood International Agency Ltd's #Marksman 44 #door cores being tested at Warringtonfire to BS 476-22. It looks like a very basic #firetest, but in actual fact, this is one of the more difficult arrangements to test successfully. Firstly, the door leaves are only lipped on the long edges, meaning the bottom and top of the door leaves are the exposed #Marksman particleboard core. Additionally, there is no #intumescent protection applied to the hinges and a reduced intumescent protection to the latch. The absence of glazed apertures in this unlatched double door arrangement means that the Marksman door core is being really tested for deflection and distortion. A great result exceeding 42 minutes! The #intumescent #seals used in this instance is Pyroplex, supplied by Norseal Ltd. This specimen also includes the NOR810S mechanical drop seal and the NOR710 perimeter seal, both great options for limiting the passage of smoke and sound. The #Door team at Wood International Agency have known and worked with Norseal for a long time. #Collaborative #testing in this way, with transparent links to all the products used is a shared ethos, ensuring customers of these systems know exactly what they are getting (incidentally Jason Sefton - CertFDI MIFSM came to attend this test with us).
