📢 Side event on Govtech 4 Impact World Congress – Designing EU’s GovTech Roadmap We recently hosted a dynamic workshop featuring representatives from the European Commission, the public sector, GovTech startups, and EU GovTech projects like GovTech Connect and GovTech4all. This event aimed to further discussions and address the challenges identified in previous EU GovTech projects 🌍✨ Highlights included project presentations from the JRC Study on cross-border GovTech practices, the GovTech Connect Project, and the GovTech4all Project. Key discussions tackled community challenges such as reusability, scalability, and collaboration. We also developed a vision for the EU GovTech Ecosystem through a Miro session, outlining strategic objectives and KPIs. Additionally, we focused on building an EU GovTech community and expanding startups across borders. Last Monday, we concluded EmpoWomen’s second Open Call, and the results are incredible! Over the last few months we were amazed by all the different startups that enrolled and wanted to take part in the Birdhouse Tech in Belgium & AgeTech in Europe program. Last week, 57 of them got the chance to pitch in front of our jury of experts.  Each vertical got their own tailored jury. We even had some AgeTech jury members joining us from Germany, Switzerland & the UK. 🚝🛬 Since it’s a big opportunity to bring your pitch live, we’re very happy that we were able to meet 41 startup teams in person. This gave them the opportunity to meet all pitching founders during dedicated dinners for each vertical. Not only the pitching startups could meet, but they even got the chance to have conversations with some Birdhouse Tribe members. The DragonFly Institute is a culmination of the work that I've been doing all along in my career as I journeyed in building my financial planning practice. It encompasses my passion and my purpose and my profession. I formalized this ( finally) and understood the impact I make, want to make and will make in the #FinancialLiteracy and #FinancialChangemaking arenas. In summary we hope to impact people's financial lives, starting with 1. Giving 1 million books which I authored to 1 million kids. The books are called: 1. Does Money Grow on Trees?! 2. How to Grow a Money Tree?! 3. So You've Grown a Money Tree?! My daughter, Chelsea and her Friend, Stevie co-wrote and my nephew, Alanzo is the illustrator. Changing their narratives too. Right! When we take these books to the Townships and Cape Flats, we will narrate the stories through an edutainment theater production and follow the impact of this intervention in their lives. What then follows is a financial literacy programme at adolescent stage ( post school and tertiary studies) as they enter the early income earning years of their lives, and on to making #SmartMoneyMoves in building their Financial plans and lastly.... wait there's more... 2. #FinancialDating which is an online couples programme owned and trademarked by The DragonFly Institute including a workbook and couples game- through this we hope to lower the financial challenges that lead to divorce and financial abuse, but mostly to help couples create wealth.
