One Day, while doing a survey on beggars, I saw something that made me rethink charity. At a Bhandara spot, there was a mix of people, even well-dressed ones, which got me thinking: Are our current ways really doing the job when it comes to poverty and hunger? Charity is nice and all, but it's not always hitting the mark. In crowded places, it's easy for those who really need help to miss out, and we're not sure if these practices can have a lasting impact. Today is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Ever heard of it? 🤔 The day aims to raise awareness and encourage action towards ending poverty in all its forms. Of course, we know that poverty won't vanish overnight. But there are things we can do on a more local scale to support people who are living below the poverty line! We help the 40% of children in Salford who are living in poverty enjoy opportunities that they couldn't have otherwise. Our funding grants allow them to take part in sports, hobbies and courses. 💃 But we can't take all the credit! We work with a number of brilliant partners across the city to make these opportunities a reality. If you'd like to support young people in Salford who are facing financial limitations, we'd love to hear from you. You could provide a long-term contribution, smaller donations, admin assistance and more!
