We're pleased to announce that we have received $2 million in funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)’s new Green Neighbourhoods Pilot Project and the Toward Net-Zero Homes and Communities program to accelerate the adoption of deep energy retrofits in social housing across eastern Ontario. This significant investment will support our Retrofit Accelerator and help make homes more energy-efficient, increasing household savings and reducing emissions in underserved communities. Our goal with this project is ambitious but essential: we’re working to reduce energy use in social housing by 50% and greenhouse gas emissions by 80%, all while keeping retrofit costs under $30,000 per unit. By setting these high targets, we aim to show that significant energy savings and emissions reductions can be achieved—without displacing tenants. This initiative is about more than buildings; it’s about improving lives and fostering a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gThuPYNR

Throwback Thursday | Connecting Communities in Southern Adelaide 10 years ago, a joint venture between Baulderstone and Abi Group (now both ACCIONA) delivered the Southern Expressway in Adelaide - an 18.5-kilometre multi-lane expressway between Bedford Park and Old Noarlunga. The project connected Adelaide to the southern beaches and McLaren Vale wine region and included the duplication of interchanges, bridges and pedestrian paths. This project also invested heavily in the South Australia, with 86% of contracts awarded to SA businesses and 34% of employees from target groups including apprentices and trainees, local people with barriers to employment and Indigenous employees. ACCIONA has an almost 80-year history of delivering projects like this in South Australia through our legacy companies: AbiGroup, Lendlease Engineering, AW Baulderstone and Coleman Rail. #Adelaide #SouthAustralia #Legacy #Infrastructure #SustainableInfrastructure #InvestInThePlanet #ACCIONAteam #CivilConstruction
