This Earth Day we draw inspiration from the monumental achievement of the moon landing—an endeavor that required unprecedented international collaboration across borders, politics, and expertise. As we face global challenges like climate change and hunger, embracing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17 is crucial. This goal, focusing on partnerships for achieving all other Sustainable Goals, underscores the importance of global cooperation. By fostering strong, revitalized partnerships, we can tackle these complex issues together. Let’s commit to working across nations and sectors to create a sustainable and equitable future, demonstrating that when we unite, we are better. #EarthDay #GlobalGoals #SDG17 #SustainableFuture #SweetPotatoRevolution #CircularEconomy

🌊 Want to help create a vision for a sustainable ocean future? The Ocean & Climate Platform and Friends of Ocean Action launched a global visioning exercise to imagine the future of ocean sustainability ahead of the Third UN Ocean Conference (UNOC3) in June 2025. We are inviting the global ocean community to take part in a short online survey to identify transformative initiatives—whether they are movements, innovations, or policies—that can drive positive change for the ocean. 📅 Survey open until: December 10, 2024. ➡ Take the survey now: https://lnkd.in/gMQsT_97 🌱 The survey will gather ideas and insights—known as "seeds"— to help build a vision for a sustainable ocean future and identify pathways to reach it. This process aims to bring together civil society, innovators, policymakers, and ocean stakeholders to spark new ideas and inspire collective action toward a healthier ocean. I’m super excited to share that for the past few months, I’ve been working with UNESCO on the HABITABLE ECMN Project! 🌍 This incredible initiative is the largest research project on climate change and migration ever funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme. Alongside 20 amazing partner organizations, we aim to understand how climate change impacts migration and displacement in Africa and Southeast Asia. 🌱🎑 As the lead partner for Stakeholder Engagement, UNESCO is dedicated to making sure our project's results are meaningful and useful for everyone, from international bodies to local communities. 🌟 By truly understanding local contexts, we’re fostering fantastic collaborations between research institutions, community organizations, and policymakers. 🤝📚 Our mission is to co-create knowledge that meets the unique needs and hopes of all stakeholder groups, especially the most vulnerable communities. ❗️💬🌍 I’m thrilled to be part of this journey to advance the climate change and migration agenda and help define what habitability means as communities face social tipping points. 🌪️🔥🏘️🚶♂️🚶♀️ I’m grateful to work with passionate colleagues from around the world who are committed to transforming realities, shaping a better world, and promoting a just transition. 🌏✨ I’d love to hear your thoughts on this important topic! Feel free to comment or reach out if you have any questions. Let’s connect and make a difference together! 📧💡 Big thanks to the team for believing in me and bringing me on board! #climatechange #UNESCO #ClimateAction #EnvironmentalJustice #climatemigration #migration #GlobalGoals #ParisAgreement #Horizon2020 #SocialImpact

New research from the UNDP Accelerator Labs Network and Nesta’s Center for Collective Intelligence Design unveils the power of collective intelligence in advancing #climateaction! Released on Earth Day 2024, "UNTAPPED: Collective Intelligence for Climate Action" analyzes 100+ #climate initiatives across 45 countries, highlighting the impact of #collectiveintelligence in tackling #climatechange. From Kenya to Guatemala, these initiatives empower #vulnerable communities disproportionately affected by climate change. The virtual launch event of "UNTAPPED" gathered hundreds of changemakers and featured high-level speakers, including UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner and representatives from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Qatar Fund for Development. Collective intelligence, the enhanced capacity created when people work together with #technology, holds immense potential to transform climate action efforts globally. By leveraging localized climate data and diverse perspectives, we can drive more effective and inclusive solutions. As countries prepare to submit their next generation of national #climate pledges, "UNTAPPED" calls on international organisations, academics, and innovators to prioritise public participation and local expertise in #climateaction. #ClimateAction #CollectiveIntelligence #UNTAPPED #ClimateChange #Sustainability #EarthDay #GlobalGoals #ClimateCrisis #Resilience #ClimateJustice #SDGs #EnvironmentalJustice
