Did you know it is International Stress Awareness Week this week ? This annual event is observed in the first week of November and is aimed at promoting the important awareness of stress and its effects on mental health, well-being, and overall quality of life. One of the primary goals is to raise public awareness about the causes of stress and its impact on both our personal and professional lives. This includes understanding the physiological and psychological effects of stress and how it can affect our overall health. The week also serves as an opportunity to promote mental well-being by encouraging discussions around mental health. In order to recognise that stress can lead to a variety of mental health issues, it is vitally important to ensure that you and your employees are adequately trained and kitted out with the right knowledge in this area. Our eLearning training will help you understand the crucial role in destigmatising conversations about stress and mental health. By fostering awareness, promoting training, and encouraging healthy practices, the week seeks to create a society that understands and manages stress much more effectively. 🎤 The future of wellness is here! 🌟 After spending many years in the health and fitness industry, I've come to realize that our traditional measures of success were focused mainly on outward appearances. We would celebrate how much weight someone lost or how toned their body looked, without considering the other vital aspects of health. But now, we're entering a new era of well-being. Well-being, to me, is about intentionally taking actions to prolong our lives and prevent diseases. It's about looking beyond the surface and diving into the core elements of our health. How do we manage stress? How well do we sleep? How effectively do we recover? How do we handle our emotions? How do we feel about ourselves? Even monitoring our heart rate variability. In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week, I shared a video yesterday that offers fresh perspectives on mental health. I encourage you to take just 11 minutes to watch it. We all know that people don't change when we simply tell them what to do; true change comes when our perspectives shift. If you find the video valuable, please feel free to share this post with others. It might be exactly what they need right now to feel hopeful and positive about making changes in their own lives. In this strange scenario we find ourselves in, the power lies within our ability to make different choices. Let's embrace the opportunity to create better futures by making conscious decisions that prioritize our well-being. #Wellness #MentalHealthAwareness #BetterFuture

🌟 As April wraps up, we wanted to share a glimpse into the work our Mental Health First Aiders have been doing to acknowledge Stress Awareness Month. 🏡 First up, they launched the MV Stress Management House—a virtual sheet of building blocks for team members to share stress-relieving activities. This has become a great tool for inspiration when anyone needs a stress busting activity! ~~ We’ve popped a sneak peek below in case you need some inspiration too ~~ 👷♂️ Then they capped off the month with a 40 minute interactive session on Building Resilience. We delved into recognizing stress signals, deploying coping strategies, and embracing positive thinking during tough times. We even all had a go at drawing our personal stress buckets and of course the all important tap! 🌏 We had over 100 team members join from the UK, US and APAC and we are really proud that there is a toolkit that can support our team members across the globe. 🧠 Next up, Mental Health Awareness Week in May! #StressAwareness #ResilienceBuilding #MentalWellness #WeCare

🌿 National Stress Awareness Week: Let's Prioritise Well-being 🌿 This week we celebrate National Stress Awareness Week—a vital time dedicated to focusing on mental health. In the midst of our fast-paced lives, it's crucial for us to recognise the profound impact stress can have on both our personal wellness and our professional environments. 🧘♀️🧘♂️ Throughout my experience in health and social care, I've witnessed firsthand how stress can affect both individuals and teams. It's essential for us to prioritise creating supportive environments where mental health is a top priority. This can be achieved through regular breaks, engaging team activities, and accessible mental health resources. Engage in open and honest conversations about stress, seek out support when needed, and take deliberate steps to care for yourselves and those around you. Remember, it's okay to ask for help and to offer it in return. 🫂💚 Together, let's foster a culture of understanding and support. #MentalHealthMatters #HealthandSocialCare #HealthcareRecruitment
