  • Today is Human Rights Day This is an annual reminder to shine a light on the achievements made in global human rights but also calls attention to the work that remains to be done in ensuring these rights are protected globally. Human rights can empower individuals and communities to carve out a better tomorrow and move closer to the world we want, one that is more peaceful, equal and sustainable, but we know this still isn’t the case for all. It is so important to raise awareness surrounding the human rights issues, both in our own communities and worldwide, to promote the protection and advancement of these rights, and remind the global community of the ongoing struggle for equality, justice, and dignity for all people, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion, or any other status. We must remind ourselves of our responsibilities to play our parts, however big or small, in our businesses and social communities, in order to support and promote these rights and make the differences where we can. #HumanRightsDay #worldcommunity #training #empower #everylittlehelps https://lnkd.in/eHDDKtFw

  • National Grief Awareness Week (NGAW) starts today. This week encourages an open dialogue about grief, with the primary purpose being offering support to those who are mourning, encourage support and breaking stigma, as well as educating us all about the complexities of grief, loss, and bereavement. Grief affects everyone differently, and there is no set timeline for healing and so this week will help promote the fostering of a supportive environment of empathy, making it easier for those who are grieving to receive understanding and support in their time of need. Whether you are experiencing grief yourself or supporting others through their difficulties, it is important to feel confident and equipped with the right approaches and tools to help support like our courses in the below link. https://lnkd.in/ejh_gpfv #NationalGriefAwarenessWeek #support #eLearning #AddisonAcademy

  • International Men’s Day is observed on November 19th each year. The day aims to raise awareness about the issues affecting men and boys, promote positive male role models, and encourage conversations about men's health and well-being. It serves as an opportunity to highlight the challenges that men face in modern society, including mental health issues, male suicide rates, and societal expectations around masculinity. International Men's Day also emphasises the importance of emotional openness and support networks, encouraging men to seek help when needed and to engage with mental health resources for support. It is a time for us all to reflect on the importance of positive masculinity and the crucial role that men play in creating a balanced, equitable society. Engineering, manufacturing and construction industries are notoriously male dominated so keep an eye out for your male colleagues, check in with each other regularly (especially today) and keep celebrating the wins together and supporting the losses. Everybody needs somebody 🙏 A big thank you to all the men that make up our Addison team ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you would like any support or further details on mental health training please follow the link below or don’t hesitate to contact us : https://lnkd.in/ejh_gpfv #internationalmensday #support #together

  • Anti-Bullying Week - November 2024   This week is Anti-Bullying Week which aims to raise awareness about the issue of bullying and promotes initiatives aimed at preventing it. This week serves as a platform to educate students, parents, educators, and communities about the detrimental effects of bullying and the importance of fostering a culture of kindness and respect. One of the primary aims of Anti-Bullying Week is to raise awareness about the different forms of bullying, which can include physical, verbal, emotional, and cyberbullying. By shedding light on these issues, the campaign seeks to highlight the experiences of those affected by bullying and to emphasise the need for supportive environments.
