In its relatively short lifespan, Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW) has already positioned itself as a credible thought leadership platform that allows stakeholders to debate, discuss and inform people about the likely causes and outcomes of key market events and developments. This year, ADFW will feature over 50 events at ADGM between December 9 and 12 and is expected to draw 18,000 participants. The 2024 edition will center around the theme of ‘Welcome to the Capital of Capital’ and underscore the UAE capital’s strength and value proposition, highlighting its status as the region’s prominent financial hub and destination of choice for top international financial institutions. Abu Dhabi announced four new initiatives and strategies on Wednesday, including the launch of a new entity designed to simplify and expedite business establishment in the UAE capital. Additionally, a new industrial zone focusing on technological solutions and localized production was introduced. The initiatives, unveiled on the opening day of Abu Dhabi Business Week (ADBW), include: 1. The launch of the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority (ADRA), 2. The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (ADCCI) new strategic roadmap, 3. A new strategy for the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) in collaboration with MEZN Venture Studios, 4. The launch of the Family Business Council. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, inaugurated the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority (ADRA). As an arm of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), ADRA aims to streamline business setup and regulatory compliance, serving as a single point of contact for business registration and reporting across the Emirate’s mainland and free zones.
