On the news this morning, discussions around preventative mental health measures in schools. Obviously my little ears pricked up! Labour plans to do this by ensuring there is a specialist support worker in every school. I'm interested in how this looks and works with current measures: for instance having an MHST embedded in their school. If a school has an MHST does that mean they won't get this provision? We have an excellent MHST but like all mental health services, they are over stretched, have waiting lists and are oversubscribed. Wondering if the DfE will further support and fund in-school specialists and empower schools to fund more specialist SEMH staff to offer immediate access to preventative support? Great it's being talked about, I wonder how in reality it'll be rolled out...... #mentalhealthinschools #mentalhealth #education

On this World Mental Health Day, it’s vital to emphasize the role of teachers, caregivers, guardians, and parents in supporting children’s mental health. 🤩 In many communities, open communication can be a powerful tool. Creating safe spaces for children to express their feelings fosters emotional openness. Teachers can facilitate discussions about mental health in classrooms, breaking down stigma and encouraging children to share their experiences. 😍 Establishing consistent routines is also important. Many families face economic hardships, making stability crucial for children’s emotional well-being. Routines in daily activities, such as study time and family meals, provide a sense of security. 🥰 Encouraging physical activity through local sports or community events promotes both physical and mental health. Engaging children in traditional games can also strengthen cultural ties and foster social connections. 🥳 Let’s commit to supporting our children’s mental health, ensuring they have holistic opportunities to grow, thrive, and develop resilience in the face of challenges. 👏 #eylinitiative #mentalhealthawareness #MentalHealthMatters #mentalhealthawqrenessforchildren

🌍 World Mental Health Day 🌍 Let’s shine a light on a critical area: the mental health support for adopted, foster, and kinship children. These young people often carry the weight of unique challenges and traumas, but with the right tools and support, they can heal and thrive. 💙💚💖 Schools play a vital role in this process. Trauma-informed environments create safe spaces where children feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed. Together, we can advocate for policies and resources that ensure every child, no matter their story, has access to the care they deserve. 🛠️🧠 Let’s make mental health a priority for all children. #WorldMentalHealthDay #TraumaInformedCare #MentalHealthMatters #FosterCare #AdoptionSupport #KinshipCare #ChildAdvocacy #StrongerTogether #ThrivingChildren

Let's talk about a pressing issue this Mental Health Awareness Month: the well-being of children with additional support needs (ASN) and disabilities. 🌟 Did you know that social, emotional, and mental health needs are identified as the second most common need among these children? 🧠💔 In the UK alone, 229,700 pupils are navigating through these challenges every day. 📊 It's a staggering number that underscores the importance of prioritising mental health support within the education system. 📚🏫 At LL, we're committed to addressing the diverse needs of all students, including those with SEND. By providing comprehensive support and resources, we strive to create nurturing environments where every child can thrive academically and emotionally. 🥰🤝 This month, we need to raise awareness, foster understanding, and advocate for better support systems for children with ASN. Together, we can make a difference in their lives and ensure they receive the care and attention they deserve. 💪❤️ #MentalHealthAwareness #BreakTheStigma #teenmentalhealth #mentalhealthawarenessmonth
