Young people are the driving force behind Africa’s progress, and their empowerment is essential for shaping the continent’s future. At #ACEP, we are equipping the next generation of Pan-African leaders through the Next Generation Resource Governance Leaders Program to tackle complex governance challenges. On Wednesday, 4th December, 2024, we hosted a policy seminar and send-off ceremony for the 7th Cohort of the program. After 12 weeks of intensive training, these leaders presented innovative policy ideas on critical issues such as divestment and decommissioning in the oil and gas sector, sustainable energy storage, the impact of galamsey on water bodies, and clean cooking solutions for vulnerable communities. We look forward to seeing these ideas refined and published, contributing solutions to the key challenges in Africa’s energy and extractive sectors. As these emerging leaders move forward, we are confident they will use their skills to drive positive change, advancing good governance and sustainable development wherever they go. #NextGenLeaders Elfreda Agyemang -Duah Anna Grace Mkucha Joy Cheruto Maltiti Mohammed ogbode patience Abukari Alhassan Gomdah Maud Gracious Fuko Cynthia Nwaelu Onyinyechi
