#eDNA rightfully highlighted in the new White House Climate Resilience Game Changers Assessment https://lnkd.in/gCCpRS7M eDNA provides an accurate, sensitive, cost effective, and scalable tool for monitoring biodiversity. These approaches are a game changer for mobilizing biodiversity data at scale to understand how species and ecosystems are responding to climate change. Only with high resolution data can we know how our marine ecosystems are changing under rapid change and this provides us a powerful tool in the tool belt.

#Environmental and #climate challenges require a concerted and determined response by all actors. The Luxembourg Agro-Environmental Systems Group at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is supporting national authorities in obtaining additional information on the concentration levels of #airpollutants that affect #humanhealth over different meteorological seasons and at different locations in #Luxembourg. For example, a first dataset on the seasonal and spatial distribution of #ammonia concentrations in the air was recorded. Please find more information in the Layman’s report 2023 that was published in close collaboration between LIST and the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity this October: https://lnkd.in/e9Ubxb9K #LISTEnvironment

Exploring NOAA’s Role in Climate and Environmental Research As climate change continues to impact our world in unprecedented ways, the importance of scientific organizations like NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) cannot be overstated. NOAA plays a critical role in understanding and addressing global environmental challenges by: 1. Weather Forecasting : NOAA provides accurate and timely weather predictions, helping us prepare for and mitigate the effects of extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods, and heatwaves. 2. Ocean Monitoring : By studying oceanic patterns, NOAA supports marine ecosystems, fisheries management, and coastal communities that rely on the health of our oceans. 3. Climate Research : One of NOAA’s most vital roles is in advancing our understanding of climate change. The organization conducts extensive research on global warming, sea-level rise, and the effects of greenhouse gases, providing critical data for informed decision-making. 4. Environmental Protection : NOAA actively works to protect ecosystems, including coral reefs, marine sanctuaries, and endangered species, ensuring that future generations inherit a thriving planet. In today’s world, where data-driven insights are crucial for policy development and environmental stewardship, NOAA’s contributions are invaluable. 🔍 If you're interested in environmental science, data analysis, or climate resilience, NOAA’s work is worth following closely. Let’s continue to support efforts that help safeguard our planet for future generations! 🌱 #NOAA #ClimateChange #EnvironmentalScience #Sustainability #MarineEcosystems #DataScience

In order to make sustainable decisions about how best to use their land, countries need highly detailed and current information on how much land is forested and how much is being used for agriculture. However, this data can be hard to come by. Nepal, with the help of SERVIR Global, is addressing this issue by using satellite technology to create its own land monitoring systems. This allows the country to estimate the impact of forest loss on its overall emissions and take the necessary steps to meet its emissions reduction goals. This is one example of how space technology can help in the fight against climate change. #WorldSpaceWeek https://lnkd.in/etsBDFgU
