Haiti faces volatile political, security and humanitarian crises that have had a profound impact on its health care system. The USAID-funded Improved Health Service Delivery – Integrated Health Resilience Activity (IHSD) is working to improve access to quality, patient-centric primary health care services in six departments of Haiti. Alongside our critical local partners, IHSD has strengthened health facilities and community programs to increase availability, access and use of quality health services during the previous quarter of implementation. It's inspiring to see Corus International Integrated Health Resilience Activity (IHSD) adapting to challenging environments like Haiti's. Engaging #communitybased organizations through a competitive #smallgrants program is a smart approach, as it fosters #localownership and #empowers #communities to address their own health needs. By working in partnership with communities, #CHWs, and care groups, IHSD is not only increasing #healthybehaviors but also building #sustainable solutions that strengthen the overall health system. In contexts like Haiti, where socio-economic challenges and security issues are prevalent, such #adaptive and #communitydriven approaches are crucial for making meaningful and lasting impacts on #publichealth. It was a pleasure to open the side event (Day 2 of the World Health Organization Global School on the Health of Refugees and Migrants) on Territorial Health and Health Cluster: Partner Collaboration and Stand Exhibition. Strengthening partnerships with local organisations, community leaders, and grassroots initiatives is essential to ensure the successful implementation of health programmes. In the area of Health and Migration, this is even more crucial, by considering determinants of health, such as housing, labour, and education. #healthforall #healthmigration

Community health workers are the backbone of resilient health systems. 👏 Through the Resilient and Empowered African Community Health (REACH) initiative, IFRC, Africa CDC, and Ministries of Health are working together to develop policies that strengthen community health and support the frontline heroes who make a difference every day.

“Our biggest hope is that survivors…who have been affected by this conflict will have access to comprehensive trauma-informed health care and services.” PHR’s engagement in Ethiopia illustrates our theory of change in action: providing evidence-based tools, resources, and capacity development sessions for health workers fostering strong networks and partnerships mobilizing these networks to conduct participatory research using documentation to speak out against atrocities and advocate for justice.
