Best Internship Experience Ever!✨ I was initially going to save sharing this for last in what I'd like to now dub 'The Value Series' by me. But I've had second thoughts about that, so here I am. Very quickly (I need to work on this verbal tic soon; I say it too much), I'd like to briefly share this with you all🫱🏾🫲🏿 Virtually every vacation of mine as a pharmacy student has been filled with internships, mandatory requirements to successfully complete the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Each internship up to this point, whether in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, industry, or academia, has brought its own unique experiences. If you think this post is about one of these pharmacy-related internships, then you couldn't be more wrong... Remember the VALUE perspective from my previous post? This mindset is what allowed me to step into this internship. After I'd just completed my hospital internship, I came upon an opportunity, one I would have ordinarily ignored for various reasons. It was an opportunity to intern with Pastor Hannah Abrahams-Appiah, whom I knew to be a Christian author. If you've gone through my profile, you'll see indicated: 'Christian,' 'Bibliophile,' and 'Aspiring Writer.' Against my naturally reserved and fear-of-failure nature, I immediately told myself that I couldn't allow this opportunity to pass me by. I instinctively realized that this was the perfect opportunity to add VALUE to myself. It was either that or just wait for school to resume. The opportunity came with a demand for a CV. I'd never even bothered to develop one for myself, but I decided that this was again, an opportunity to add value to myself. I quickly went on YouTube, downloaded a few videos on CV writing, and worked quickly to put one together and submit, despite feeling internally that this opportunity wouldn't be mine. If you've read up to this point, it should be clear that I managed to squeeze into this valuable opportunity. And thus, I participated in my best internship experience ever in April 2024. To add more to this would be a little excessive, so let this be Part 1 of a wonderful experience shared with you. I have got a lot of DMs in past few months about how do I got internship at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) So I would be explaining whole process with to the point steps : First, you have to search for the labs of DRDO and find out the lab in which you have interest to work with. Second, you have to find out the Email ID of the Director of respective lab you want to work. Third, Now comes the main part. You have to mail the director of respective lab with a cover letter expressing your interest like why you want to work with that respective lab, what fascinates you, etc. Fourth, Attach College id(id card), Resume, Previous semester result, 10-12th school marksheet and College No Objection Certificate (NOC) The most important among all! with the cover letter and mail all the above to the respective director of the DRDO lab. Few people asked is there any interview for internship at DRDO? So for my lab i.e., CFEES there was no interview but I can't say about all the labs. Sources do matter! If you know someone who is in Defence or is working at any decent post under government of India then the process becomes a little easier to get in there but still the above process must have to be followed. Electronic items like Phone, earbuds, etc. are NOT allowed inside DRDO premises (answering the most asked question!) This sums up the entire process of getting an Internship at DRDO. Lately, I've seen so many posts saying "We are hiring psychology interns." But it's always one of two things: Either they’re hiring psychology students as interns, but it’s mostly to work as social media interns with maybe some basic psychology classes, training, and supervision. Or, they want students to pay for these so-called internships, which should really be advertised as trainings instead. I wonder, when will these psychology students actually find real internships? Attended the Path to Internship '24 event organised by the SLIIT IEEE Student Branch! This was an event that went beyond my expectations and it was a wonderful experience. As a person with little to less knowledge on how internships work, this event really did a good job in shedding light to different areas when searching for internships and how to prepare ourselves before finding an internship. Tips and tricks like how to write a good CV, and the amazing session on how to prepare for and perform in an interview and the different perspectives from the both, the internship seeker and the employer were really well portrayed! #CVWriting #SLIIT #IEEE #Interviews
