In the heart of Africa, baby Nyakek’s story shines as a beacon of hope. Born with a life-threatening condition in South Sudan, Nyakek’s journey could have taken a different path without access to essential surgical care. ❤️ Thanks to the incredible support of mission hospitals and compassionate healthcare providers, Nyakek received the surgery she desperately needed. Her strength and resilience inspire us all! But so many more children need help, and together, we can make that possible. 🩺 Every donation makes a difference. Help us provide life-saving care to children like Nyakek, giving them the future they deserve. 💙 Join us in making a change. Let’s work together to bring healing to the most vulnerable. https://lnkd.in/gsVauwWh #HopeAndHealing #AfricanMissionHealthcare #SaveALife #MissionHospital #Support

A new chapter of Humpty Dumpty Foundation support has been launched through our very special Mother’s Day Appeal. This campaign is a direct response to an urgent need to support new and nursing mums whose babies are receiving critical care in hospital across the country. Our goal through PUMPED FOR LIFE is to help care, support and give hope to new parents. It is a staggering statistic, but 1 in 5 babies require emergency intervention at birth and more than 30,000 newborn and preterm babies get admitted to Neonatal Intensive Care Units or Special Care Nurseries for medical care across Australia. Having a baby born too soon can lead to significant trauma for families. For a mum, not spending those first few seconds, hours, days or weeks with their new bub can be heartbreaking. This Appeal empowers and uplifts nursing mums by supporting them through the donation of much-needed Breast Pumps - fulfilling equipment shortages in our public hospitals across the country. Whilst they may not be able to directly nurse their baby, mothers can still provide for their bub through breast milk - giving them the best chance to not only survive but thrive. Please support this life-giving appeal to make a difference to sick babies and new mums across the country. https://lnkd.in/gSxjm2Ei
It might surprise you to know that across Australia, a lack of access to breast pumps in neonatal clinics is putting new babies at risk. Humpty is excited to announce a new Mother's Day Appeal - Pumped for Life - that offers you the opportunity to provide a breast pump without delay for new mums whose babies are fighting to survive. From 29 April to 13 May, the Pumped for Life appeal will allow you to celebrate your Mum by helping a new one. Humpty's goal is to raise enough funds for 88 hospital-grade breast pumps and milk warmers for hospitals right across Australia. Click the link below to donate and support this very special Mother's Day campaign today. https://lnkd.in/gjEWxxTb To become a Matched Giving partner and help Humpty provide lifesaving breast pumps to neonatal clinics across the country email our Head of Partnerships at ali.bramson@humpty.com.au. #HumptyDumptyFoundation #PumpedforLife #Partnerships #MothersDay

Our Global Shapers Brussels Hub colleague, Daniel POUZADA, has launched a #fundraising campaign to save the lives of babies born prematurely👇 Every year, approximately 2,800 babies are born at the CHU Saint Pierre hospital in Brussels, out of which about 8% of the babies are born prematurely (i.e. born before 37 weeks of gestation), and 1.5% of the babies are born extremely premature (i.e. born before 28 weeks of gestation). However, about 50% of babies born prematurely, who are currently not surviving, could be saved if the hospital would be able to buy the medical equipment it needs. The Global Shapers Brussels Hub has started to raise awareness about this tragic situation and to help the UMC Sint-Pieter - CHU Saint-Pierre hospital raise the funds it needs to buy the necessary equipment that will save lives. Every donation counts! The equipment the hospital needs costs ~€35,000. To learn more about the cause we are supporting please have a look at the following explanatory video (EN subtitles): https://lnkd.in/eV9JtkhE. If you'd like to contribute to saving the lives of babies born prematurely you can send your donation via the following page: https://lnkd.in/eA6gmje7. #GlobalShapers #Youth #GivingBack #LocalImpact #SavingLives

Next month, I will be donating one of my kidneys—a decision that holds profound personal significance. Living kidney donation can significantly improve the quality of life for recipients, offering them renewed health and vitality. Approximately a third of all kidney transplants in the United Kingdom are from living donors. In the United States, living donors make about 6,500 transplants possible each year. Despite these contributions, many individuals remain on transplant waiting lists, hoping for a suitable match. If you are interested in learning more about living kidney donation, several organisations offer comprehensive information: United Kingdom: -NHS Organ Donation: https://lnkd.in/ezx_fQs9 -Kidney Care UK: https://lnkd.in/e69ujhxb United States: -National Kidney Foundation: https://lnkd.in/esdvGYyC -National Kidney Registry: https://lnkd.in/e8sz42YM I encourage you to explore these resources to understand the process, benefits, and considerations of living kidney donation. Your decision to donate could offer someone a second chance at life. #livingkidneydonation #nkr #nhsorgandonation

In Ukraine, children are enduring unimaginable pain from severe burn injuries, with many developing life-threatening sepsis due to a lack of preventative treatments. Almost 30% of these young patients are admitted to intensive care, fighting to survive. The need for accessible treatment is urgent, yet resources remain desperately scarce. Here’s how your donation WILL make a difference: $39 provides a single dose of antibiotics to fight sepsis for one child. $118 covers one full day of life-saving treatment. $944 funds up to eight weeks of intensive intravenous care for one child. $30,000 funds treatment for 32 children. To donate, please follow the link: https://lnkd.in/gRXQCm3P Nova Ukraine, in partnership with dedicated local teams, is working tirelessly to bridge this gap. With your support, we can provide the essential care these children need to recover safely and protect the childhood they deserve.
