In the presence of Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, we have signed three concession agreements with the Red Sea Port Authority to develop, operate and manage three cruise terminals at Safaga, Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh Ports to strengthen Egypt’s cruise sector. Additionally, we initialled two 30-year concession agreements with the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) for the development, management, and operations of a Ro-Ro terminal and a cruise terminal at Sokhna Port. Shura Council member Ali Ahmed Al Haddad has called for renaming Gulf Air, the national carrier, after Bahrain, like other Gulf countries, to better serve in projecting the kingdom worldwide. Speaking to Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Mohammed Al Kaabi, he asked about the reasons for sticking to the current name which had been chosen before Bahrain acquired full ownership of the company and expanded its activities to new regions. Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has reported significant growth in its operational performance for the third quarter of 2024, according to its latest performance report. The airline transported over nine million guests, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This achievement was supported by more than 49,500 flights, reflecting a 9% increase in flight operations. Additionally, Saudia logged 146,700 flight hours, representing an 11% increase over last year, with an impressive on-time performance rate of 87.8%.
