📢 Latest Update from BGT's Participation in the AF4F's Erasmus+ Project! 🌱 We are thrilled to be part of the #AgriFood4Future (AF4F) project consortium, joining forces with 23 European partners from the #agrifood and digital sectors across 7 countries in the EU. AF4F aims to redefine vocational education and training (VET), continuous vocational education and training (CVET), and higher education in the realm of smart farming and sustainable food production. The collaborative endeavor aims to establish #COVEs (Centers of Vocational Excellence) in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, and Belgium. These COVEs will cultivate local "skills ecosystems" to provide top-notch vocational skills to both young people and adults. Our team is currently leading two crucial tasks: the "Assessment of COVE national #policy priorities and state-of-the-art on smart farming and sustainable food production" and the "Mapping of VET ecosystem best practices in smart and sustainable farming". These reports will serve as cornerstones for future stages of the project, helping to shape the development of innovative curriculums and learning programs in the field. Stay tuned for more updates on our journey with #AF4F: https://lnkd.in/dHd23wCb Together, we're shaping the future of sustainable agriculture. 🌍🌾 ☎️ Have a question or want to find out more about the project? Welcome to the Smart SKills LinkedIn page...The SMART SKILLS Erasmus+ project is motivated by the need to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of small and family farms in rural areas. A key issue is the low adoption of innovative technologies and modern practices, resulting in limited competitiveness and environmental sustainability. The SMART SKILLS project primary objective is to #elevate #digital proficiencies and #innovation transfer within the agricultural sector. We aim to tackle pressing issues of #climatechange, #SustainableDevelopmentGoals (SDGs), and the long-term viability of rural communities. WATCH THIS SPACE as...Our objectives unfold on three levels: 1. Short-term (Learning): We aim to boost awareness and understanding of how accessible digital technologies can optimise and sustain agricultural practices. 2. Medium-term (Action): We encourage positive learning behaviours both inside and outside the farm setting, aiming to foster the uptake of new technologies for improved practices, yields and effectiveness. This phase includes decisions to implement digital, precision, and smart technologies in farming. 3. Long-term (Impact): The project aspires to render agriculture more eco-friendly, reduce the sector’s environmental footprint, and minimise its contribution to climate change. The ASEAN Youth Economic Forum (AYEF) 2024 aimed to boost interaction among key players in the agricultural value chain, including government, private firms, and international development organizations. Co-organized by the ASEAN Youth Organization and the Mekong Institute, AYEF 2024 focused on food insecurity and sustainable agriculture. Participants engaged in interactive learning, workshops, site visits, and online courses. The forum provided a platform for young leaders from ASEAN and Japan to collaborate and strengthen ties. Best experience from workshop: 1. Interactive Workshops: These sessions allowed participants to collaborate, exchange ideas, and learn from experts. Topics ranged from sustainable agriculture practices to innovative financing models for smallholder farmers. 2. Site Visits: Visiting local farms, markets, and agribusinesses provided practical insights. Participants could observe real-world challenges and solutions firsthand. 3. Online Courses: AYEF 2024 likely offered online courses or webinars. These digital learning opportunities allowed participants to delve deeper into specific topics and enhance their knowledge.

Imagine a world where communities thrive on locally grown food, fostering self-sufficiency and creating ample job opportunities. Our mission as a Group has always extended beyond mere education; it's about empowering individuals to become agents of change, driving progress within their society and beyond. That is why we're thrilled that our education arm, Quest International University (QIU) has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative with the beautiful nation of Seychelles, on this very premise. QIU’s Chief Operating Officer, Nicholas Goh recently met with key policymakers and stakeholders to discuss training Seychellois students under QIU’s cutting-edge biotechnology programmes. This collaboration transcends textbook learning. We are talking about integrating smart farming techniques like precision agriculture and plant tissue culture, boosting crop yields and ensuring sustainable food security. It leverages on QIU's expertise in biotechnology and Seychelles' agricultural potential to create a ripple effect of positive change. The aim is to shift reliance from imported goods, empower communities to cultivate their own prosperity, and create economic opportunities within the local agricultural sector. We're not just sowing seeds in the ground; we're sowing the seeds of a brighter future for generations to come.
