Meet our Penfolds Evermore grant recipient, Mobius Farms. A local organisation based in the Barossa; Mobius Farms were awarded AUD$54,000 for their project, ‘Closing the loop on grape waste through insect bioconversion’. Using red and white grape marc as a feedstock for insects, the team will assess the impacts of insect frass on vineyard soil and plant health with the aim of closing the loop on winemaking ‘waste’ while enhancing viticulture sustainability.
