On International Women's Day, we're extremely proud that our colleagues, Galina Dimitrova and Gillian Painter, have made the 2024 Women In Trade Association Forum Powerlist, in recognition of their leadership and the top-quality service they provide to The Investment Association's members.
There are many outstanding women working within the investment management industry, and while progress is being made on improving the culture, policies and practices to address the barriers women face in the work place, there is still more work to be done.
Last year, we published our first EDI Data Survey to help ensure comprehensive data is collected and published to better understand and inform decision-making around culture, strategy and targets. In that survey, 86% of the respondents reported that implementation of, and adherence to, EDI strategies sit with CEOs, Executive and the Board, which is aligned with government's focus on cultural change being driven from the top.
We also know that addressing barriers for women entering the industry and nurturing a pipeline of female talent is crucial. We will continue our focus on this area through the IA’s talent solution, Investment20/20, spotlighting best practices and the role of culture in addressing challenges to retaining and progressing female talent.
Happy International Women's Day!
TAF, Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and CBI (Confederation of British Industry) have joined forces to champion the role of women in trade associations, and the #WiTAPowerlist and Outstanding Member Contribution List is now live!
