From innovative, energy independent sensors and environmentally friendly chemical synthesis to micro 30 printing - the german start-up scene has a lot to offer. Get to know the start-ups mechIC, Mechanolution and PicoShape of the Worldfactory Start-up Center (WSC) at Slush next week! 🔎 The start-up mechIC develops innovative sensors for energy-independent, fail-safe, robust and easy-to-integrate component monitoring. The advantage is that they are easy to install and do not require their own power source. This makes them highly versatile. The sensors work mechanically. Instead of microelectronics, mechlC uses micromechanics to build mechanical integrated circuits. Therefore, their sensors do not need electrical energy. Make sure to get to know mechlC at Slush. Co-founder Philip Schmitt will represent the start-up at the German Pitching Stage. Make sure to be there to see the pitch on the 21.11. at 10:50. 🧪 The aim of the start-up Mechanolution is to push the boundaries of chemical synthesis and create new opportunities for innovation in this field. The team around founder Desi Dobreva uses a technique called Mechanochemistry to synthesize valuable chemicals that find application in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The benefit of this innovation lies in the ability to produce synthetic substances by reducing energy consumption by more than 90% and eliminating the need for solvents as compared to conventional processes. Watch Desi Dobreva pitch at the German Pitching Stage at Slush on the 21.11. at 11:05. 🖨 The start-up PicoShape develops an innovative 30 printer for microstructures that is able to print particularly small and precise parts in the micrometer range using two-photon polymerization (2PP). These microstructures can be so small that they could even be printed on human hair. Their innovative and compact diode laser-based system is much more affordable than current micro 30 printing systems, enabling people in a variety of fields to work with 2PP. Sounds interesting? Then don't miss the pitch of co-founder Felix Behlau at the German Pitching Stage on the 21.11. at 10:45 to find out more about PicoShape. 📷 1-3: © W0RLDFACT0RY #slush #startups #hightech #technology #chemistry #3dprinting #Worldfactorylnternational

🧑🔬 Meet&Greet: Dr.-Ing. Uwe Scheithauer 🎉 In the inaugural edition of our Meet&Greet series at Formnext - Where ideas take shape, we’re excited to introduce the first participant Dr.-Ing. Uwe Scheithauer! Uwe is the Group Manager for Additive and Hybrid Manufacturing at Fraunhofer IKTS, where he drives forward innovative developments in #ceramic #3Dprinting. Fraunhofer IKTS is at the forefront in ceramic Additive Manufacturing #AM, which not only enables the creation of complex, functionalized, and miniaturized components but also demonstrates that ceramics can be a powerful alternative to conventional materials like polymers and metals, especially for demanding applications. 🤝 Research & SMEs: A Strong Partnership Why is collaboration between research institutes like Fraunhofer IKTS and small and medium-sized enterprises #SMEs so valuable? It’s simple: through knowledge transfer and close collaboration, new technologies can be developed to market readiness, and processes can be accelerated. This was recently demonstrated by the commercialization of Multi Material Jetting #MMJ technology by the spin-off AMAREA Technology supported by the EXIST - Existenzgründungen aus der Wissenschaft funded by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz, Europäischer Sozialfonds (ESF), and European Union. Naturally, this requires clear framework conditions, such as a shared understanding of #innovation goals and resource allocation. When implemented as successfully as between AMAREA Technology and Fraunhofer IKTS, both research and industry benefit greatly from this #partnership. 🔹 Multi-Material Additive Manufacturing: The Future Fraunhofer IKTS is well-positioned in 3D printing, pushing ceramic materials into new dimensions through Additive Manufacturing. AMAREA Technology is an exciting startup within Fraunhofer IKTS network, provides the forward-looking #MMJ #3Dprinter technology, which allows various materials, provided they are co-processable, to be combined in a single 3D printing job. This innovation opens up unprecedented possibilities for functionalization and miniaturization, directly addressing the increasing needs of the industry. 📅 Discover what this collaboration can look like at Formnext - Where ideas take shape and meet #Uwe on November 20, from 4:30 PM to 6 PM at our booth #C48, Hall 11.1.💡🤝 Fraunhofer Venture Markus Weitzel Laurenz Darling Dietrich Hoffmann dresden|exists Dr. Frank Pankotsch, RTTP #MeetAndGreet #HighPerformanceMaterials #AdditiveManufacturing
