We usually see and observe Wind turbines structure above grade level where we drive by wind farms. We rarely see the structure below the grade level. The video footage clip below shows the amazing foundation structure below the grade level. The foundation consists of a large spread footing and a network of steel reinforcement bars (rebar) to provide the necessary strength and rigidity. Proper reinforcement is essential to withstand the dynamic loads generated by the wind turbine, including the forces from wind, the weight of the turbine, and the operational vibrations.
