Recently, we completed a project where we repowered wind turbines by replacing key components, enhancing efficiency, and extending the lifetime of the entire project. This is a significant step toward meeting renewable energy targets while reducing waste and maximizing the potential of existing infrastructure. Repowering not only boosts energy production but also reinforces our commitment to sustainability by reducing the need for new resources and minimizing our environmental footprint. 🌱 It’s inspiring to be part of a forward-thinking team that’s driving the future of clean energy! Curious about how wind power plants generate revenue, even when the wind isn’t blowing? Wondering if they have a backup plan, or what wind speeds trigger operation or shutdown? In this video, I answer all those questions. Join me for Part 2 of my visit to De Aar Wind Farm.

Why do Governments lack any degree of “Systems thinking”. On the radio this morning there was a piece on wind turbines and how we can build as many as we can but until we have the infrastructure to carry the electric it is a waste of time. So big announcement on wind farms, but very little on the infrastructure needed to get the power to the user. Think customer/user and work back from there not from the other end. Begin with the end in mind. You could be seeing thousands of wind turbines churning away and all the power disappearing. Maybe a strategy that says no wind power unless the distribution to the end user is in place??

https://lnkd.in/d36zmF7P The UK and Europe are looking into a new form of motionless wind energy turbines that could be installed on rooftops without leading to the same problems associated with more conventional turbine models, such as excessive noise and wildlife disruption.
Will motionless wind energy turbines solve the problems of traditional designs?
