Startup Braga (7th) and Startup Lisboa/Unicorn Factory Lisboa (10th) are among the top 10 most innovative hubs in this first edition of the ranking. "Europe's Leading #Startup Hubs" results from surveys of more than 2,000 European entities and more than 2,600 alumni in partnership with Statista and Sifted. The new ‘𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰’ report reveals some interesting trends based on Dealroom.co data: 📊 Trend 1: Flanders is the third fastest-growing startup ecosystem in Europe. The region’s startups are valued at EUR 54 billion, an increase of 31.7% compared to a year earlier. 📊 Trend 2: Domestic capital providers lead early-stage investments, while foreign investors dominate breakout and late-stage rounds. 📊 Trend 3: Health tech startups are securing larger capital rounds in Flanders, having raised over EUR 471 million since October 2023. 📊 Trend 4: Flanders’ university spinouts rank 6th in Europe with a current combined value of EUR 8.8 billion. Busy week, busy ecosystem #TechWeekinReview shows preparations, lot of activity, financing in search. ➡️bonapp.eco opened a 2-million-euro financing round to support its international expansion. The startup helps fighting food waste by connecting customers with food providers such as restaurants, cafes and shops offering discounted products which are nearing expiration date. The startup was recognized for its contribution and development as The Startup of the Year at the recent professional community event ANIS Romania Gala. ➡️The ecosystem is dominated by intense learning, sharing, networking which is also mirrored in busy angel investors agenda.
