Aging and living with HIV Since the introduction of antiretroviral therapy in the mid to late nineties, the life expectancy of individuals with HIV on antiretroviral therapy (ART) has significantly improved over the last 25 years. Consequently, a considerable number of HIV-positive individuals are now senior citizens. It is crucial to revise our approach to address the unique and evolving needs of this older demographic living with HIV. The 95-95-95 targets must also encompass this group that is aging with HIV. Prominent HIV specialists, Dr. Ishwar Gilada and Dr. SN Misra, further explore this topic with Dr. Vaishali Morineau. https://lnkd.in/dJFH4hF4

Desires are strong feelings or wishes for something that we want to achieve or obtain. They can drive our actions, motivate us to pursue goals, and shape our choices. While some desires are rooted in basic needs, like hunger or safety, others can be more complex, involving emotional or social aspirations, such as love, success, or fulfillment. It's also important to know that some hormones are responsible for some of our desires. Like the Oxytocin, it is often referred to as the "love hormone," is a hormone and neurotransmitter that plays a key role in social bonding, sexual reproduction, and childbirth. It promotes feelings of trust, empathy, and attachment between individuals, making it essential for forming relationships and nurturing behaviors. When your desires are driven by this hormone, you may be a victim of S3xual activity. But for your information, whatever your desire maybe, don't forget as well that HIV continues to affect millions worldwide, but together we can make a difference. It's crucial to get tested, know your status, and educate others about prevention and treatment options. Let's break the stigma and support those living with HIV. Take action today: start a conversation about HIV. Your voice matters! #whatareyouteaching #impact #whatareyoubuilding @highlight ECEWS @LIFFE

Only 14% of Black people who can benefit from PrEP are using it, compared to 94% of white people who could benefit. Black people continue to be disproportionately impacted by HIV, yet House leaders are proposing to cut 53% of funding from the Minority AIDS Initiative and $767 million in cuts to domestic HIV funding. This #NBHAAD tell Congress to #SaveHIVFunding at bit.ly/savehivfundingnow.
