In the heart of Vidisha, two-year-old Anurag was dangerously underweight at just 18 pounds. His family, still grieving the loss of his older brother to acute malnutrition, was on the brink of losing hope again–when a changemaker stepped in. Pallavi, a community facilitator trained through AIF’s Maternal and Newborn Survival Initiative (MANSI) identified Anurag’s critical condition and ensured he received lifesaving care at a Nutrition Rehabilitation Center. Today, Anurag is healthy and thriving, with a future full of possibilities ahead. This year-end, your gift can empower more changemakers like Pallavi to be the difference between despair and hope for families like Anurag’s. Donate today and secure your 2024 tax deduction as well! 📅 Make Your Year-End Gift Today! 👉 https://lnkd.in/epyuZwyH How many lives will YOU help support before the year ends? #AIF #MANSI #Changemakers #YearEndGiving #TransformingLives

Like you, I protect my time and carefully choose where I get involved. This cause hit my heart hard, and I knew I could help make a difference—so I joined the Board of National Center for Pediatric Palliative Care Homes (NCPPCH). Every parent of a medically fragile child dreams of a cure. But their second biggest wish is often much simpler—a chance to rest. Caring for a child with complex medical needs is exhausting, and many parents go for weeks or months without a break. Without the right community services, families feel trapped, overwhelmed, and isolated. That’s where Children’s Respite Homes come in—at least in the few lucky communities that have them. These homes give families a break from the endless caregiving—a chance to rest and recharge. Think of them as extended homes, offering care and support to children who may not live long lives. 🤝 Here’s how you can help: 👉 Donate today to expand these homes and support families on the hardest journeys. 👉 Share this post to connect us with corporate leaders and donors who can help grow our network. Together, we can ensure no family faces this journey alone. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gKb7HvYZ #nonprofit #childrensrespitehomes #familycare #giveback #healthcare #respitecare #childrensrespite

When is 64% good odds? When it comes to saving lives, 64% percent is a great place to start. 64% of mothers giving birth in Ghanaian referral hospitals have been reached with obstetric triage best practices through Ghana Health Service’s national rollout of our Obstetric Triage Implementation Package in Ghana. What that means is that by training frontline medical professionals across Ghana with triage processes and equipping them with resources, 64% of these births are safer. This rollout is decreasing some key metrics: ⬇️ Time women spend waiting to be assessed by a medical professional ⬇️ The occurrence of preventable complications ⬇️ Suffering for women and babies alike Best of all, lives are saved. There’s a lot to be grateful for! But 64% is not 100%. We won’t rest until 100% of women and babies, not just in Ghana, but across the world, are treated with quality, best medical practices, giving them the opportunity for a safe and comfortable childbirth experience. To reach that goal, we need your support. By donating as part of our 2024 giving campaign, you become an important part of our mission to save lives the world over. Donate today, and help us keep pushing that percentage up. Two related questions regarding organ donation. For everyone with a driver's license: When you elected for, or against, being and organ donor on your license do you feel it was an informed decision? ie did you know what that would entail and if your family/surrogate could change your decision if they wanted at the end of your life? For all of you clinically inclined individuals: How have you seen the relationship between an organ procurement organization #OPO and a hospital or health system well maintained and supportive of families and clinical teams? The context behind these questions are the challenges that can arise for clinical teams, OPOs and families in already difficult situations when navigating if a patient is a registered organ donor and how that may affect the logistics of their end-of-life care. It has seemed to me that many folk don't understand how a check box on their driver's license may impact their family's wishes vs the individual's wishes around #organdonation. #advancecareplanning #ACP #goalsofcare #organdonor #difficultdiscussions

We are living in a reality where our elderly, who should be enjoying their golden years, are instead burdened with the weight of poverty and its dire consequences on their health. With limited resources, they endure the anguish of untreated illnesses, unable to afford essential medications or access proper medical care. In this harsh reality, every ache, and every pain becomes a reminder of their vulnerability. But amidst these hardships, there's a glimmer of hope. Listen to our clinical officer Judith Gacheri, as she talks about the positives of our health program. Join us tomorrow as we rally behind Hodhan Jibril, who will brave the Surfer’s Path Half Marathon in Santa Cruz, covering 13 miles (21 km) to ensure our seniors receive the healthcare they deserve. Imagine a life where access to quality healthcare is within reach for seniors who struggle to afford it. Your donation can make this a reality. Every step Hodhan takes, every mile she conquers, brings us closer to providing vital medical care to our seniors. Let’s rally together, donate generously, and make a difference in the lives of those who have paved the way for us. To motivate Hodhan, you can support as follows: For just KES 11,400 or CAD $119 or USD $88, you can ensure one senior can access healthcare for an entire year. Send your donation via: MPESA PayBill Number: 89 73 63, Account Number: Marathon Visit our website to make your contribution online. https://lnkd.in/dEMbU8tb 100% of all donations received go directly to the Seniors’ Healthcare Program. Thank you for restoring dignity to our seniors. #MamaIbadoCharity #WazeeWaKenya #ZeroHunger #Isiolo #IsioloCounty #SeniorsHealth #SeniorsHealthProgram #Kenya #Seniors #KenyaSeniors #RestoringDignitytoourseniors #Canada #Ontario #Toronto

Our annual Christmas Bauble Appeal has already launched, which means you can dedicate a Christmas Bauble to a loved one and support us in delivering lifeline information and support, such as our Helpline. Your donations help us to provide support for families like Matthew and his Mum Pauline who was diagnosed with CBD in 2023. Below Matthew speaks to how the PSPA Helpline has helped their journey since his Mum’s diagnosis. “I found the Helpline to be a really great resource. Supporting someone living with CBD can be all encompassing. So, it is good to know there is someone to speak to who understands, listens and can really help. I’ve rung a few times at a point when I have felt I have done everything I can, and don’t know what to do next. They’ve listened and given me guidance, even sometimes indicating when I need to step back and let things settle. I appreciate this support and the information they provide makes a huge difference. I understand Mum’s behaviours better and so do the staff at Mum’s new care home. They’ve read all the information, improving the level of care Mum receives as a result. I know there isn’t a cure for CBD, but I do everything I can to help Mum, and I feel PSPA’s Helpline does the same for me.” Find out how to dedicate a Christmas Bauble here: https://lnkd.in/eVdSS8Ct. #ChristmasBaubleAppeal #SupportPSPA #HelplineSupport #RaiseAwareness #ChristmasGiving #CharityAppeal #Christmas #TeamPSPA
