This cause hit my heart hard, and I knew I could help make a difference—so I joined the Board of National Center for Pediatric Palliative Care Homes (NCPPCH).   Every parent of a medically fragile child dreams of a cure. But their second biggest wish is often much simpler—a chance to rest. Caring for a child with complex medical needs is exhausting, and many parents go for weeks or months without a break. Without the right community services, families feel trapped, overwhelmed, and isolated.   That’s where Children’s Respite Homes come in—at least in the few lucky communities that have them. These homes give families a break from the endless caregiving—a chance to rest and recharge. People who are over the age of 60 and face the reality of both social isolation and healthy food insecurity so they call Nourish Meals on Wheels. Did you know that 201,707 meals were served to these people in 2023? People who need vital help to survive and rebuild their lives with the assistance of Denver Rescue Mission. When is 64% good odds?  When it comes to saving lives, 64% percent is a great place to start. 64% of mothers giving birth in Ghanaian referral hospitals have been reached with obstetric triage best practices through Ghana Health Service’s national rollout of our Obstetric Triage Implementation Package in Ghana.  What that means is that by training frontline medical professionals across Ghana with triage processes and equipping them with resources, 64% of these births are safer. This rollout is decreasing some key metrics: ⬇️ Time women spend waiting to be assessed by a medical professional ⬇️ The occurrence of preventable complications ⬇️ Suffering for women and babies alike Best of all, lives are saved. There’s a lot to be grateful for! But 64% is not 100%. What a great idea, and so easy to do.

Children who are born under proper medical guidance, in high-figh hospitals, and with specialists are more likely to be completely healthy. Thus, 2/1000 are detected to be victims of Cerebral Palsy - something 100% treatable. Whoever fails to admit the socio-economic divide that is just increasing as every day passes is not aware of the adversaries the humans under the privileged line are facing. These are children, lakhs of them - denied proper healthcare and succumbing to illnesses they were unfortunate to be born with. Where is the impact of change? We may not be able to create a perfect world, but with each cause we champion, every donor who joins us, and our collective efforts, we are inching closer to a better world.
