Let’s talk about copying code. Why is it such a stigma in the tech world? Learning often involves building on existing knowledge. The key is understanding what you’re copying and adapting it to your needs. Let’s shift the focus from copying to creating value."We’ve all been there - staring at a blank screen, doubting our abilities. The tech world loves to glorify the “genius” developer. Truth is, coding is less about innate intelligence and more about problem-solving, persistence, and a willingness to learn. So, to all the aspiring developers out there feeling overwhelmed: You are smart enough. Start small, leverage tools like ChatGPT, and remember, every line of code is a step forward. Let’s redefine success in tech - it’s about progress, not perfection. #coding #developer #impostersyndrome #tech #learnings #growthmindset #copycode

🌟 Unlocking the Power of Consistency in Coding 🌟 Hey everyone! Let's talk about something that's often overlooked but super important – consistency in coding! 💻 Starting out on platforms like LeetCode can feel daunting, right? It's like diving into a sea of algorithms and problem-solving without a life jacket. 🌊 But here's the thing – those first few green dots might be sparse, but they don't tell the whole story. #ConsistencyMatters #CodingJourney #KeepGoing Every attempt, every challenge, every moment of confusion is a step forward. It's not about how many green dots you have; it's about the effort you put in and the progress you make along the way. 🚀 Sure, ChatGPT might churn out flawless code, but what sets us apart is our human touch – our creativity, our problem-solving skills, and our resilience. So, to all my fellow coders, keep pushing forward! Stay curious, stay determined, and most importantly, stay consistent. The journey may have its ups and downs, but every step brings us closer to our goals. Here's to unlocking our full potential, one green dot at a time! 💚✨ #CodingCommunity #NeverGiveUp #LearnAndGrow

Your value depends on how much value you bring to the business 🔥 As a developer with business mind you could be more beneficial rather than super coding skills. #business #softwarebusiness
I don't care if you can code. I do care if you can architect a possible solution via problem-solving, communication and forward-thinking to unlock business value. I can teach you to code. Google can teach you to code. StackOverflow can teach you to code. ChatGPT can teach you to code. Of course you need to be able to code. You are mistaken if you think that is the most important thing. Being a good Software Engineer is much more than your coding ability. Not everyone is able to problem solve in a committed team environment keeping an eye open to future. This is much harder to teach.

Imagine Stack Overflow, ChatGPT, Google, and YouTube go offline for a week! 😱 Here's how to code efficiently without them: 👉 Stay curious. Before searching for help, try to solve the problem yourself. 👉 Read programming books. They give deep insights and can be used anytime. 👉 Master the basics. Know your language, algorithms, and data structures well. 👉 Use official documentation. It’s often your best resource. 👉 Join developer meetups. Build a local support network. 👉 Do code reviews. Learn by reviewing and getting feedback. 👉 Keep offline resources like cheat sheets and books nearby. 👉 Find a mentor to guide you. 👉 Work on real projects. Practice makes perfect! 👉 Learn to debug on your own. It’s a key skill. 👉 Save useful code snippets for future use. #coding #developer #programming

What to code... is more complex than just doing the coding. What to code... exceeds the technical parts. What to code... has limitations of time, budgeting, resources. What to code... has responsibilities to the rest of the team as that thing needs to actually solve the problem but also be marketed, sold, shared, easilly used etc etc What to code... is a team effort. Thus, what to code... is in big part communication! Communiction along the chain of people who are involved in order to bring actual value to users/customers/people. Communiction is the harder part 🙃.

Your recent insights on the true essence of software engineering resonated with me profoundly. The way you've highlighted the importance of problem-solving, teamwork, and forward-thinking over mere coding skills captures a critical perspective that often goes unspoken in our field. It's refreshing to see recognition that the craft of software engineering extends far beyond the ability to write code. Your emphasis on architecting solutions that unlock business value, fostered through clear communication and a forward-looking mindset, is a perspective I deeply share. I get the notion that coding can be taught by X, Y & Z, but the ability to think critically and collaboratively solve problems in a team setting is a rarer skill, is a powerful reminder of what truly makes a software engineer valuable. Your post eloquently articulates the multifaceted role of a software engineer, emphasising that our contributions to the team and the broader business mission are what truly define our success. Thank you for sharing these thoughts, Ryan Murphy. They serve as a valuable reminder of the broader impact we can have when we look beyond the code. I would have written a lot more on this subject but I'm constrained to a max limit of chars. 😀
