"VAT-Free Medical Services in Indonesia: How Does It Compare in ASEAN?" The policy of exempting VAT on medical health services in Indonesia is a crucial step toward ensuring accessibility and affordability of healthcare for all. This initiative aligns with practices in other ASEAN countries, albeit with variations based on each nation's fiscal and healthcare priorities. By examining these comparisons, Indonesia can better evaluate the impact of this policy on the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare services. IvanMD is delighted to announce a significant milestone in our journey towards advancing healthcare accessibility and interoperability. In this achievement, we've aligned with FHIR R4 standards for seamless data exchange. - Encounter : track patient visits, - Condition : record diagnoses, - Observation : capture vital signs, - Procedure : represent health education and medical procedures, - ServiceRequest : handle medical orders (lab / radiology / procedure), - Specimen : represent sample status - DiagnosticReport : present lab results in standardized manner using LOINC and SNOMED-CT. The interoperability of our data with the SATUSEHAT platform marks a paradigm shift in patient engagement and empowerment. Through the SATUSEHAT Mobile application, patients gain unparalleled access to their personal health records (PHR), enabling them to actively participate in their healthcare journey. This real-time visibility empowers individuals to monitor health status, track health progress, and enable personalized information about their physical and mental well-being. In addition, we believe that seamless interoperability allows every healthcare facility to equally contribute valuable insights and data to the health decision and policy maker, healthcare provider, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Digital Transformation Office (DTO) Kemenkes, and directly contributing to the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045 by providing medical continuity of care transcending health facility boundaries. Together, through collaboration and technological advancement, we pave the way toward a healthier, more prosperous future for all. Note: each screenshot below is shared with patient consent from Praktik Dokter Umum dr. Ivan William Harsono using IvanMD for Med Practice & Clinic, prioritizing anonymity and confidentiality of data, underscores our commitment to ethical data management practices. #innovation #satusehat #indonesiaemas #medicalinformatics #fhir #loinc #snomedct #interoperability #patientengagement #healthcareaccessibility

I have always been fascinated by the potential of the health-tech industry, especially in its impact on the Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP) segment in Indonesia. This segment, often overlooked, represents a significant portion of the population that faces numerous health challenges and limited access to quality healthcare services. A leading model in addressing these issues is Halodoc, an Indonesian health-tech company that has made remarkable contributions to improving the overall healthcare system. Navigating the complexities and risks inherent in the health sector in Indonesia is no easy task; it cannot be underestimated. The industry faces challenges such as increasing health costs, issues with public insurance (JKN), widely dispersed geographic conditions, and gaps in health education, among others. Halodoc has taken a comprehensive approach to tackle these challenges, and it goes beyond profit–aiming to make a real difference in society. Halodoc’s legacy proves that a socially driven mission can fuel success in both social and business contexts. In collaboration with Kevin Antonio Loekito, and under the guidance of our lecturer, Ms. Adhi Murti Citra Amalia Hendarsin, we analyzed Halodoc’s model and submitted our findings to the World Asian Case Competition 2023. We were honored to be among the Top 10 Global Winners, representing Indonesia, and to have our case featured and published by the Academy of Asian Business earlier this year. As a citizen, I am delighted to see and welcome the government's Annual Free Medical Check Up, which provided by the Ministry of Health this January 2025. This is truly a stellar program aimed at helping Indonesia toward Golden Indonesia 2045. Improving access and quality to health screening and health insight will undoubtedly lead to healthier life expectancies in the future. We at Sysmex Indonesia are extremely delighted to be a part of this journey with all of our partners, including hospitals, labs, and, most importantly, the Ministry of Health, to improve the quality of health screening in Indonesia by deploying our advanced technology of hematology analyser. This video of our Minister, Bapak Budi Sadikin at Puskesmas Mulyorejo Malang, demonstrates the Ministry of Health's consistent efforts to assure the end-to-end readiness of all healthcare providers across the cities for this health screening program. Let us us support this national program together! #sysmexindonesia #sysmexinfinitebooster #ministryofhealth
