Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP)’s Post

What could be better than completing one project to advance equity for Alaska's energy future - how about two? Greta Laesch, under the mentorship of Michelle Wilber, did just that! For her first project, Greta contributed to an ongoing project aimed at reducing barriers to electric vehicle adoption in Alaska communities! She analyzed utilization patterns and user sentiment about all high-traffic public charging stations in Alaska. She also developed and piloted a user intercept survey instrument that is expected to be deployed in the future! The information gathered by Greta is important to Alaska as it will help inform future electric vehicle supply equipment and expansion efforts! “These projects are valuable only when they are co-created with those who will be directly impacted and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from those with lived experience in rural Alaska,” says Greta who was inspired by the curiosity and passion exhibited by researchers at ACEP.
