Friends, meet... Keagan! 👏👏 13 year old Keagan was born at just 27 weeks gestation. Though he spent 82 days in the NICU when he was born, and as the healthier twin, he had a relatively non eventful childhood until 2021 when he was diagnosed a severe form of Grave’s Disease. Still struggling to maintain his levels at times and suffering from extreme fatigue he is on the road to managing his disease. Keagan, like most teens, loves gaming and Alberta Dreams was over the moon when we were able to create the ultimate teen gaming/movie room for him and his family to enjoy. With a new big screen TV, PS5, VR headsets and the world’s most comfortable couch, amongst so much more; we were excited to learn that Keagan’s favorite thing in his new gaming room makeover was “EVERYTHING” but especially the amazing super soft purple shag carpet. We hope Keagan, his 2 brothers and their parents have many fun gaming nights and movie marathons for years to come.

What if I told you that you were only experiencing a fraction of reality? Imagine that life is like a 4K screen. Now imagine your consciousness as a video game console. When you have a low level of consciousness its like hooking up an Atari 2600 to the screen. Your 4K monitor will be able to project Pong onto the screen but there is so much more detail that you can get our of your screen if you had a more modern game console. As we get more experience in life and our consciousness begins to expand, it is like upgrading your video game console. When you go from infant to young child, its like upgrading from an Atari 2600 to a Nintendo Entertainment System, better graphics but still just a fraction of what your 4K screen to display. As you go from child to teenager to young adult to adult, your consciousness naturally expands and if we use the video game analogy, you go from Sega Genesis, to PlayStation, to Xbox 360 etc etc. In order to get the most out of life (4K screen) you need something like a PS5 that will allow you to enjoy the full power of your 4k screen. When you have expanded consciousness you notice more details of life, brighter colors, richer sounds, deeper emotions, and more ability to deal with different ideologies and opinions without getting triggered. So how do you know what level of consciousness you are at and what the next level is? I'm glad you asked, this is one model of consciousness that I really like and it is called Spiral Dynamics. In this week's episode of the Silicon Valley to Spirituality, I walk through the 8 stages of consciousness, what their core values are, how they process information, and how to get to the next stage of consciousness. To me, this is one of the most important frameworks to understand so that you can live a life of joy, purpose, and abundance. This is What Our Childhood Games Did to Us My husband ordered a board game called Sequil and we decided to play it before going to sleep. Otherwise we would simply watch something on OTT or simply browse youtube or IG. To my surprise, it was so engrossing that we completely forgot about our mobile phones or TV. We were deeply focused on the game the entire time, and one night, we even played for almost three hours. Now, it has become a daily ritual. Each evening, we dedicate an hour to playing, and in doing so, we've rediscovered the joy of face-to-face connection. Instead of staring at screens, we sit together, fully present. The laughter, the occasional frustrations, and the shared victories create a sense of connection that digital entertainment simply can't match. Do you remember how much we loved playing board games in our childhood? At the time, we didn't realize it, but those games did the following for us: 1. Increased our focus and attention. 2. Gave us a dopamine boost that we eagerly awaited, without the instant gratification we're used to today. 3. Deepened our understanding of each other—revealing how we strategize, handle challenges, and think on our feet. 4. Today, when conversations falter, people often resort to distractions like alcohol or screens. But board games kept us fully engaged, bringing everyone together without a hint of boredom. If you're struggling to reduce your screen time, improve your focus, or simply looking for deeper connections, try playing a board game. Which one would you prefer? Share in the comments section.

I am still processing how this living nightmare unfolded with regards to Hell Divers 2 thanks to Sony. My three thoughts pertaining to this: 1) Sony really shot themselves in the foot on this one and pissed a lot of people off, especially in the 170+ countries that do not have access to the IP…this is A LOT of money considering that the company just laid off 900 people. 2) Arrowhead is unfortunately at the mercy of Sony due to Sony owning the IP, so people really shouldn’t hold the gun to their head with reviews for Sony having them grabbed by the balls for a better lack of terms. 3) Sony should have flat out said that it wanted control of the data mining or some aspect of Hell Divers because let’s face the music that this had nothing to do with security…there was something that they wanted that they weren’t able to entirely gatekeep with it being in its current state. These are the unfortunate side-effects of very complex circumstances, and the game and the game players suffered at the end of this one. One can only hope that Sony really renegotiates its terms and does what is right here for the many the love and have been able to play this game. I myself am very blessed to be in a country with PlayStation Network, yet cannot say the same for many. I also understand the why behind those who do not want to create a PSN account, even if possible, for numerous reasons! It’s not fair to the many who are missing out on arguably one of the best games in the modern era. More money comes naturally with earned trust and care for the gamers, and this is a great opportunity for a major company to reconsider its actions. Make great games like this accessible to many versus a privilege in an already hurting industry! Cheers, Stephen Lenz Forbes article attached here about how this is a terrible mistake by Sony: https://lnkd.in/gYaquuWH #videogaming #videogames #technology #problem #sony Image found at: https://lnkd.in/gMbu-mvN

It's 1998 and Nintendo is busy building hype for it's groundbreaking new Zelda title, Ocarina of Time. Now when I mention Zelda, you can probably hear that iconic soundtrack which is woven into gaming culture history. 🎶 So, it might surprise you to learn that one of the most hyped trailers in gaming history didn’t even use the iconic Zelda score at all. Instead, Nintendo made a bold move—they licensed “Riddle of Steel / Riders of Doom” from Conan the Barbarian. That’s right, a dramatic, dark orchestral piece from that 1980's Schwarzenegger fantasy film, blasting through a trailer for a game about a little elf in a green tunic. ⚔️ On first hear, it sounds unusual, maybe even consider it a risky advertising move. But it was a stroke of genius: It set an unexpected tone. 🎹 The Zelda series was known for its adventurous, sometimes whimsical music. But by using Basil Poledouris’ intense score, Nintendo sent a clear message—Ocarina of Time was different. Darker, more mature, grander in scale. This wasn’t just another entry in the series; it was a mythic quest that would redefine the genre. And that unexpected choice? It caught everyone’s attention. Gamers, movie buffs, anyone who remembered the epic battles of Conan. It tapped into shared nostalgia while also setting the stage for something new and epic. That trailer didn’t just build hype—it made Ocarina of Time feel like an event, a must-play experience before anyone had even touched a controller. This is the power of music licensing in video game promotion. It’s not just about finding a track that fits; it’s about making a statement, creating an atmosphere, and sometimes, flipping expectations on their head. #MusicLicensing #VideoGameMarketing #TheLegendOfZelda #SonicBranding #EpicSoundtracks #GameDev

New Post: Is ‘XDefiant’ coming to PS4 and Xbox One? - https://lnkd.in/g6Uk2DDS - After years of betas, trailers, and delays, Ubisoft‘s XDefiant is finally releasing on May 21, 2024. However, the news of the release date was met with some slight worry from those who haven’t been able to upgrade to the latest consoles, as the game won’t be released on PS4 or Xbox One this month. READ MORE: All games releasing in 2024 for PS5, PS4, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch Is the last-gen version of the game still in the works? Was it completely cancelled or has it just been delayed to ensure the game can launch smoothly on the latest consoles? Here is what we know from Ubisoft currently. Is ‘XDefiant’ coming to PS4 and Xbox One? It looks like XDefiant for PS4 and Xbox One has been cancelled ahead of the game’s full launch. The platforms are absent from the official blog post announcing the launch date and the XDefiant Twitter/X account later clarified that “We wanted to keep a consistent standard of quality for the game, so we made the decision to focus only on current-gen consoles.” Thanks for the question! We wanted to keep a consistent standard of quality for the game, so we made the decision to focus only on current gen consoles. Appreciate the understanding! — XDefiant (@PlayXDefiant) May 2, 2024 This will undoubtedly be disappointing for many players who were looking for a new shooter to try out on PS4 and Xbox One, or to find a new live service to sink their teeth into instead of Call of Duty. There is a chance we may see the game released on these older consoles if Ubisoft is happy with the stability of the PS5, Xbox Series X
