How a Trump Presidency Could Boost Alberta’s Financial Freedom 💵 A potential Trump administration could open doors for Alberta’s path to economic independence and greater sovereignty. Here’s how. Energy Policy Synergies Trump’s approach to deregulation and energy independence could align with Alberta’s ambitions in the oil and gas sector, easing restrictions and potentially reviving pipeline projects like Keystone XL. Reduced Federal Overreach 💼 Alberta faces restrictive federal climate policies. A Trump administration might lessen these pressures, helping Alberta manage its resources without federal hurdles. Financial Autonomy & Equalization Reform 📊 Trump’s policies could inspire a push for financial reforms, allowing Alberta to challenge Canada’s equalization program and seek greater fiscal self-determination. Last week's Canadian Federal Budget? The one that could have put about 4 billion back into the coffers of Canadians struggling to make their day-to-day spends? Yeah, it turns out a lot of the ink on it was oil-based. "According to the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO), a one-time tax of 15 per cent on oil and gas companies making over $1 billion in taxable income would raise $4.2 billion for the public purse over the next five years that could be used to fund climate action and address affordability issues." #budget #canadapolicy #canadabudget #fossilfuels #affordability https://lnkd.in/eQDcqXgy

On July 22, Managing Director Kevin Book was quoted in S&P Global in an article regarding energy policy aspects of Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign. #2024election #energypolicy #HarrisWalz2024 "Kevin Book...anticipated there would be continuity between Biden and a Harris administration on oil and gas lease sales, and sanctions policies. 'Our default expectation was for more economic pressure on Russian barrels (possibly as soon as the election) and maybe less on Iranian and Venezuelan.'" "Book said Clearview expects a continued focus from the Democratic ticket on affordable gasoline prices and demonstrable climate action. 'To that point, a stepped-up emphasis on climate policy may offer a way to reinvigorate support from the under-30 voters whose turnout could potentially decide closely contested swing states.'" https://lnkd.in/eub69C2r

https://lnkd.in/gEP7j5XU It's about time the Alberta Government , oil and gas sector work together to send Ottawa a final message.....hands off our jobs and hands off our future. Here's what doesn't make sense lol....the Liberals, cry go green , and here's a cap on production ,....yet they fly , drive , everywhere saying quit using fossil fuels.....but not 1 news agency , or reporter will ask Gilbutt or Trudy , how they got to work , or the pen they used to sign autographs at the Swifty concert ,...what product made that.... knowbody has asked what our military will fuel equipment with , and do they plan on having everything run on batteries....WHY can't one reporter ask a simple question to hear their response on why they didn't go virtual online, and speak to the COP people, from home....why burn tons of jet fuel , then preach that oil and gas is bad , the world is burning ,...they say in parliament for Conservatives to quit bashing Canadian business , but they make Alberta , and oil and gas folks the enemy amongst us. Justin thinks he's going to Cap production ?...take jobs away from the biggest income sector in Canada ?... he's a Hippocrate on the world stage , and Canadian folks are saying it's time to go ,...your bankrupting us. It's refreshing to hear Alberta is going to Lasso Ottawa, and hog tie their plans

🌏 Australians deserve a fair share of revenue from our natural resources, yet fossil fuel companies are making record profits while contributing to the climate crisis. The Petroleum Resource Rent Tax (PRRT) is failing due to loopholes and ineffective measures. Incremental changes are not enough; even the industry welcomed them. 🏛️ We need to repair and strengthen the PRRT to ensure Australians benefit from our natural resources. Research from the Australia Institute indicates that improving this tax could generate billions for essential public services and support climate crisis efforts. ✊ Let's push for a fairer system. Amend and increase the PRRT to secure a better future for all Australians. #FairShare #ClimateAction #TaxReform #PRRT https://lnkd.in/gqnPeSA4
The Australia Institute on Instagram: "Can you belive that the enormously profitable gas industry is taxed so lightly that the Government collects more money from the students paying HECS than it does from the Petroleum Resources Rent Tax. It's so unbelievable that ABC Fact Check wanted to confirm it, and today they published that it Checks Out. ✅ It's time to fix this, and tax gas fairly. ✍️ Add

The 2023 Article IV Consultation Report by IMF on Timor-Leste is out. The summary of the Report is quoted as below: "Timor-Leste has made impressive progress since independence in 2002 but remains a fragile post-conflict nation with pressing development needs. With oil and gas production having recently come to a halt, progress on diversifying the economy and developing the private sector is urgently needed. Fiscal deficits are financed by the country’s considerable Petroleum Fund savings, but regular large withdrawals are expected to lead to its full depletion by the end of the 2030s. A new coalition government—formed following parliamentary elections in May 2023—targets higher growth and achieving fiscal sustainability" What is next for Timor-Leste? https://lnkd.in/g7tjG2zU

He has no right to sell it because it's public money, not his. It belongs to us! We also have rights to it. Selling it would be illegal in any way. It needs to be completely shut down and thoroughly inspected to ensure that no defects that could harm the environment are overlooked, and to ensure the safety of the people for operations. By the way, it's not Justin who's saying he's going to sell the pipeline. It's his little puppets, whom he has to listen to. Justin is just an actor and doesn't make any final decisions. Other people mess things up for him, leading him to make poor decisions when he's just a face of the liberals. He's not actually the one in control. It's us who have the rights to it. It's the public's cash flow, and we work for the public's best interests. Justin needs to sit down and let the big boys show him how operations should have been taken into consideration in the first ace we don't apperictae unauthorized users that's not qualified to tell us how operations should be runned its time for the professionals to put proactive measures in and have full sclabitly for inspection gear ⚙️ that pulls out daily inspections where their technology is completely out of date and they got this pipeline in complete dept! We are here for the safety transportion of dangerous to make sure of the most sustainable efficient solutions are updated to specifications. Taken on world-class leaders like the liberals trying to run a pipeline and milk the system has only ruined this country putting us future in dept not realizing how bad they're actually treating their citizens and ignoring major world events shows a lack of knowledge when they should of stepped down along time ago a real leader will let their people know Theor maki g mistakes not cover it up and pretend that everything is okay when it really isn't and they ain't got a clue only make it harder to work with because they were afraid to give up control and the power when they knowingly they were falling behind they should of made awareness of it🏭💾✅🏫🔑♻️🔋🔐📡🇨🇦📈💵⛪

Has the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) been beneficial? That’s the subject of a recent survey by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research at the University of Chicago. The IRA is a federal law passed in 2022, aimed at enhancing clean energy. Yet nearly two years later, 67% of adults said they don’t believe enough is being done by large businesses, oil and gas companies, and countries outside the U.S. to address climate change. About 25% of respondents say they’ve benefitted from IRA tax credits related to their home energy projects. And 40% say they don’t know enough about the IRA to assess the impact of its provisions.
