https://lnkd.in/gBwPNnQ9 Incredible speech by Pierre Poilievre. He is for Canadians, he is for Canada. His promises and policies are exactly what Canadians and Canada needs now, yesterday to return the middle-class into living once again and in turn raising the poor out of poverty. No more listening to promises made that will materialize in 10 years, or five years or never because "we are studying the problem, looking for the solution, have the solution, investing in the solution... so by 2030 we'll have some homes actually built, (not enough) but we are working on it hard now for Canadians, especially for our youth, who have lost hope in home ownership. We know the challenges you are facing because of the world's problems especially the young. Trust us, we are working our best on your behalf". Mr. Poilievre knows we will hold him accountable and we also know it will not happen overnight, the day after he is elected but he is restoring the hope we have lost and have faith that he will do right by us. He will be working for us, as governments are elected to do, leading us in the right direction, forward and upwards. Canada will become Canada once again, working together united, not divided as we have been led. Let's go Canada, work together, live together and most of all respect each other and welcome our future together once again.

Monday Morning thoughts. "Undeniably, our municipalities face a myriad of challenges, from the perpetual need for infrastructure funding to grappling with healthcare disparities at a local level. Issues like crime, environmental degradation, and the burdens of downloading from higher levels of government loom large on the horizon. It's easy to fall into the trap of focusing solely on these adversities, perpetuating the "If It Bleeds, It Leads" narrative that dominates our media landscape. Indeed, even within the realm of social media and professional discourse, discussions tend to gravitate toward the negative aspects of municipal governance. Consultants tout their ability to swoop in and fix what's broken, feeding into the notion that only the problems garner attention. But perhaps it's time for a paradigm shift, a departure from the relentless spotlight on what's wrong towards a celebration of what's right." Don't forget to hit that subscribe button below. #Municipal #Municipality #LocalGovernment #Opinion
OPINION: Embracing the Triumphs "Our municipalities boast remarkable accomplishments, often overshadowed by the allure of sensationalism. Yet, there exists a tapestry of success stories waiting to be unveiled. It's not just about the projects nominated for awards; it's about the everyday initiatives that showcase the ingenuity and resilience of our communities." https://wix.to/tOloisa #Opinion #LocalGovernment #Municipality

Looking forward to joining these change makers to dive into the great work that is being done (and all the work that still needs to be done) to support economic reconciliation. You’re going to hear unique perspectives from different backgrounds and industries, including ours at Edmonton International Airport (YEG). I can assure you that you will learn something that you’ll be able to take back to your organizations to ensure Indigenous inclusion and economic prosperity for us all. We need to move beyond listening and start activating and keeping ourselves accountable. When Indigenous peoples prosper, Canada prospers and so do we all. Nothing about us, without us. #economicreconciliation #reconciliation #yeg #YEGbusiness #aviation #nationalindigenoushistorymonth #economicdevelopment

As we reflect on the legacy of colonization and its profound impacts on Indigenous peoples, it is essential to acknowledge the injustices rooted in the Doctrine of Discovery and the imposition of European values. These actions, justified by a misguided sense of superiority, resulted in the erasure of Indigenous cultures, rights and lands. The residential school system in Canada stands as a stark example of this colonial project. On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, ASL Energy joins in honouring the children who never came home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the enduring strength of Indigenous communities. This day serves as a reminder of the urgent need for reconciliation-not just in words, but in actions that foster healing and build a future based on dignity, peace and shared prosperity. Reconciliation requires all of us to listen, learn and take part in reshaping our shared history for future generations. Let us all contribute to this ongoing process by deepening our understanding and working together towards meaningful change. Wear orange to stand in solidarity and honor the legacy of Every Child Matters. #NDTR #TruthAndReconciliation #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay #ASLEnergy #TogetherForChange

EAST AND WEST I grew up in the West, in Saskatchewan, and know the Métis people and now in the East as a Kokum, there is something vastly different and harmful here. What is happening in Ontario and all points east with the explosion of the "Eastern Métis" (who are now also calling themselves ACADIAN MI'KMAQ), is the direct result of Colonial Interference in the true identity of the Métis Nation. These Daniels and Powley 'Métis' people - were dubbed by Black Robe in a courtroom in Sault Ste Marie (an old withering Judge), who dictated what it meant to be Métis - and he was wrong in his definition. Flat out, wrong. Métis DOES NOT mean you have a singular Ancestor from 1680 who died generations upon generations ago. Métis DOES NOT mean you pay a fee to Karole or the Painted Feather corporation or any of the other 300 FAKE METIS orgs out there. Métis DOES NOT mean you get to grift with the Métis Nation of Ontario with a multi-million corporation, gobbling resources indiscriminately. In fact, I have found that, with the #MNO #MetisNationofOntario that .... ... maybe fifteen percent of their membership is actually Red River Authentic Métis including Marge Froh (but how and why her Saskatchewan roots transplant to Ontario is beyond me) ... around forty percent of their membership are actually, non-status descendants of a First Nation and not Red River Authentic Métis ... the rest are either fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and higher descendants or NOT EVEN FNMI at all The corruption and distortion of what it is to be Métis is rampant in Ontario. These are NOT Métis people, they are MétisByLitigation and MétisByBlackRobe. How big a problem is it? MNO's 2023/2024 operating budget $226.7 MILLION AFN's 2023/2024 operating budget $55 MILLION That's why I agitate the Métis Nation of Ontario every chance I get. They're corrupt. Crystal

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to reflect on the painful legacy of residential schools and honor the resilience, strength, and rich cultures of Indigenous peoples across Canada. We asked Elevation’s Indigenous Relations Team Lead, Lindsay Carnes, to share her thoughts on the importance of this day. She reflected: "When I was growing up, there wasn’t a shared understanding of what First Nations, Métis, and Inuit children went through at residential schools. We’ve come a long way in building our understanding of these historic harms as Canadians, but it’s essential to take a moment to reflect on both the history and the path forward. So much work has been done by Indigenous peoples to tell us what we need to do as Canadians. Between the Calls to Action, the Calls for Justice, and the guidance within the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, we have a roadmap to follow. Let’s commit to keep taking steps." At Elevation Technical Services, we are dedicated to continuing this journey toward reconciliation, ensuring that our actions reflect respect, learning, and meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities. Together, we can work toward a future grounded in understanding and trust. #NationalDayForTruthAndReconciliation #EveryChildMatters #TruthAndReconciliation #IndigenousPeoples #CommitToAction #ReconciliationInAction
