Roadmap to Danube, Alephium’s next Network Upgrade It has been nearly three years since Alephium’s mainnet launch, a period marked by steady evolution and growth. With past upgrades Leman (March 2023) and Rhone (June 2024), the protocol has come a long way: Alephium’s virtual machine is now even more featureful, secure & dev-friendly, while BlockFlow algorithm has grown both more resilient and accessible. The foundation we’ve laid down is solid, thanks to the hard work of the core contributors & the support of the growing & active community. And it shows! The number of ecosystem projects, dapps, tools, users & addresses is steadily growing, as is hashrate and interest from partners in our common infrastructure. The Danube Network Upgrade Thanks to all of you for helping us choose the name of the second-longest river in Europe, connecting west and east, from the black forest to the black sea. It’s been one of the most important natural infrastructures of Europe for the past millennia, and it will show to be as important for Alephium, its builders & users over the coming years. Now that the core stack has matured, we are ready to push forward on robustness and performance, taking the protocol to mass-adoption levels. This is the core purpose of the Danube network upgrade, aimed at refining both the structural and user-focused aspects of the protocol. This is an early version of what’s included in the network upgrade roadmap. This is what we’re already working on. As time goes by, some additional features may be added, while others might roll out in future updates if this upgrade’s scope becomes too large. Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/eRu6-G-9

🚀 New 𝗝𝗨𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗥 Module Strengthens Leading Position of Europe’s Upcoming Exascale #Supercomputer The journey towards Europe’s first exascale supercomputer, #exa_JUPITER, at Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) is progressing at a robust pace. A major milestone has been reached with the completion of 𝗝𝗘𝗧𝗜, the second module of this groundbreaking system. By doubling the performance of JUWELS Booster - currently the fastest supercomputer in Germany - 𝗝𝗘𝗧𝗜 now ranks among the world's most powerful supercomputers, as confirmed today at the SC Conference Series (#SC24) in Atlanta, USA. 🔝 𝗝𝗘𝗧𝗜 already achieves one-twelfth of the power of the final JUPITER system, setting a new benchmark on the #TOP500 list of the world's fastest supercomputers. 💪 🎥 Video: Supercomputer JUPITER - The Journey to Exascale What does it mean to operate an exascale class system, and how does it reflect the evolution of supercomputing? 📺👇 📖 Learn more about 𝗝𝗘𝗧𝗜 on our website: https://lnkd.in/eav6W__e

🔥 Convolutional KANs: An alternative to CNNs 🔥 Building on the innovative Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (KANs), I'm excited to announce our latest development: Convolutional Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (Convolutional-KANs), in collaboration with Jack Spolski, Antonio Tepsich, Alexander Bodner! This advancement integrates learnable non-linear activation functions into Computer Vision by replacing traditional convolutions with Kan-Convolutions. Each element of the kernel is a learnable activation function modeled using B-Splines! Our preliminary results are promising. Convolutional-KANs achieve only a 0.04 reduction in accuracy compared to conventional 2-layer CNNs, but with nearly half the parameters, and 7 times fewer parameters than a 4-layer CNN. 🚀. We welcome contributions and constructive feedback to refine and enhance our implementation. Explore the GitHub repository! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dxZT6ef4"

Using My New Raspberry Pi To Run an Existing GitHub Action https://lnkd.in/eWp_NBU9 Recently, I mentioned how I refactored the script that kept my GitHub profile up-to-date. Since Geecon Prague, I'm also a happy owner of a Raspberry Pi: Though the current setup works flawlessly — and is free, I wanted to experiment with self-hosted runners. Here are my findings.

ERC-7201 Storage Namespaces Explained:- • Purpose: ERC-7201 introduces the concept of namespaces to group related storage variables together. This organization helps manage contract upgrades more efficiently by minimizing conflicts. • Namespace Definition: Each storage variable is assigned a namespace, making it easier to track and update related variables. • NatSpec Annotations: The use of NatSpec annotations documents the storage variables, providing clarity and structure. • Implementation: The proposal outlines how to implement these namespaces, ensuring that storage slots are managed in a way that prevents conflicts during upgrades. • Benefits: The main advantage is a streamlined process for contract modifications, reducing errors and improving maintainability.
