💡Just stepped out from an enlightening webinar, "The Art of Data Storytelling," organized by Dataford, with Amney Mounir moderating and Christopher Chin as the guest speaker. A big shoutout to both for such an engaging session! Absolutely on board with Christopher here – the essence of communication when interacting with stakeholders and decision-makers cannot be overstated. It's striking to see how even the most technically gifted can hit a ceiling in their careers due to a lack of communication confidence. This reveals a tangible gap in the market. And just like Amney highlighted, we don't have to go at it alone; seeking guidance from seasoned pros is not just an option, it's a game-changer. A key takeaway for me, and something I believe we all should remember: The audience is on our side. They trust us and don't need a justification of our skills. It's not just what we say but how we say it that convinces people to believe in us. 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠. The highlight of the webinar for me? The three crucial questions to enhance our presentations and make our data storytelling resonate more effectively with our audience: 1. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲? Understanding whether we're speaking to tech experts or management folks without a technical background is crucial. 2. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞? Ensuring everyone is on the same page, and perhaps giving a quick recap of relevant points discussed previously. 3. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚? Tailoring our presentation to not just inform but also inspire action. Inspired by today's learning: "𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒄𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅, 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒔." Check out Christopher's website thehiddenspeaker.com to find out more. Massive thanks again to Dataford, Amney, and Christopher for such a valuable session. Here's to telling more compelling stories with our data! 🚀 #datastorytelling #communication
