Although Amazon SEO is really important, I recently noticed a brand whose product listings were overflowing with keywords. The truth is that while having high search volume keywords is important, they also need to be carefully crafted into the content to make the reader feel hooked. Achieving a balance between strong copywriting and efficient SEO is crucial. Your conversion rate and organic rank will probably suffer if your listing is overflowing with keywords which are difficult to understand. Here's how to maintain the attractiveness of your listing while improving your organic rank: 1. Optimize Titles and Bullet Points: Incorporate keywords organically. Amazon SEO is Not Set-and-Forget As Steven Pope often says, SEO on Amazon isn't something you do once and never look back. Many sellers think product listings are a one-time job, but that's far from the truth! For a "mature" product that's been on the market for 6-12 months, it’s essential to check and update your SEO positioning for main niche keywords every 30/60 days. Here are the 5 steps you can follow to keep your product listings fresh and drive extra traffic: 1️⃣ Use Cerebro (Helium 10) to input your product's ASIN and filter for keywords where you have an organic ranking between 1 and 20. For these keywords, you're converting well and positioned strongly—ensure all your content (visual and textual) mentions them to boost CTR and CVR. 2️⃣ Filter for keywords where you rank organically between 20 and 50. For these keywords, you're on the second half of the first page. If they are relevant, try to improve your positioning by moving them into the title and being more aggressive with ads as a test. 3️⃣ Filter for keywords with an organic ranking >50. If there are keywords with high search volume relevant to your product, and you rank low, it's time to change strategy. Add them to your title and sparingly repeat them in other product listing areas to push them into the top 20. 4️⃣ Every 30/60 days, repeat the process to monitor changes in your positioning. 5️⃣ Bonus → Use the Search Query Performance Report to discover new keywords and determine where in the funnel you need to work to improve positioning and sales.
