As part of Realdania’s 25th-anniversary initiative, Vores Sted (Our Place), 60 local associations across Denmark have now been allocated a meeting place to strengthen their local community. Out of a total of 150 meeting places, these 60 pavilions, crafted from recycled and biogenic materials, are scheduled for construction in 2025. The project is a collaboration between Realdania, six design offices, including Cobe, ReVærk, pihlmann architects, Archival Studies, Rumgehør and Studio XYZ, along with technical advisors. We can't wait to see the meeting places come to life and foster community across Denmark. Learn more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/dE6VVkkA

1️⃣ Day 1 of the Urban Future. #Rotterdam conference: a great Placemaking Western Balkans Municipality of Celje / Mestna Občina Celje session, and wonderful speakers Monika Tominšek Małgorzata Ćwikła, PhD ICLEI Europe and Alexandru Stan @IN2 🔥 The discussion between the speakers and the audience was built around several “burning questions” bringing new insights to the surface: ❓ What does it mean to be urban planner working for municipality on the heritage renewal projects and is it attractive for young architecture and design professionals to work for the city rather than working in a private practice on heritage-inspired projects ? ❓ Why is it still difficult to motivate bottom up heritage projects and what makes those cities who got it right successful? ❓ Can citizens determine what is heritage from their point of view and make city officials listen to them, or is definition of heritage exclusive right of cultural institutions only? ❓ Are digital tools making heritage closer to everyone, what is their role in sustainable, regenerative tourism as opposite to “extractive” tourism? ➡ Full overview of the "Cool Answers to Burning Questions on Redoing Heritage" will be available at our Placemaking Western Balkans BLOG dedicated to the Redoing Heritage interactive session, starting from 10th of June. Stay tuned, mark the day for a good read! #placemaking #publicspace #built #nontangible #heritage #regeneration #digitaltools

📢 The 2nd New European Bauhaus festival is currently held in Brussels this week and we are proud to have contributed to the movement in our project work. 🌍 Together with Henning Larsen, we successfully coordinated the incubation of 20 place-based projects across 15 EU countries for the DG REGIO of the European Commission last year, focusing on small and mid-sized communities striving for a greener tomorrow. The New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, which Ursula von der Leyen, EU Commission President, has dubbed the ‘soul of the EU Green Deal,’ focuses on transforming urban landscapes into beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive masterpieces. 🔍 Take a glimpse at how we helped European towns and cities with less than 100,000 inhabitants align their projects to the NEB approach and thus enhance their impacts in the slides below. 👇 For further information on the tools we used, check out our NEB Toolbox: https://lnkd.in/dSngFUVm #neweuropeanbauhaus #neb #sustainabilityconsulting #sustainablechange
