The organic market continues to grow. Canada represents the 5th largest organic market globally. South of the border, organic food sales in 2023 topped $63.8B. 3 Key Findings from The Hartman's Group study titled "Beyond Organic 2024". 1) 20% of consumers are labeled as the "Core" in the organic sector. They are trend setters. They consume organic 66% of the time on a weekly / daily basis. They have an influence on the mid-level consumer. 2) Price remains the top barrier for buying more organic products. Yet, price is not a factor for the "Core" group. 3) The "Core" consumers are interested in "new" innovative food methods that go beyond organic, i.e. Regenerative agriculture, Hydroponic farming, Upcycled ingredients to name 3.
