ON THE JOB TRAINING is one of the cheaper and easier methods of personnel training and development. New employees undergo inhouse training for practical experience within the same institution. The employees are exposed to practical skills, while still performing their specified tasks in order to obtain their salaries. It saves time and money, makes evaluation easier, encourages teamwork and synergy, reduces rate of job turnover, makes adaptability easier, it guarantees job security, and enhances profitability and productivity. It's a mutual benefits for both the employees and employers. It's a win win strategy.

I’m sharing this for 2 reasons: firstly, because it’s a great job opportunity, and secondly because it’s probably the best format for a job description and job listing I’ve ever seen! There are so many great elements: - why it might and might not be a good fit for you. - what a typical week in the role looks like. - clear remuneration and progression criteria. - visually engaging so that it’s not just a giant wall of text. Well done Helen Tupper and team. I hope many other employers take note.

Job descriptions !! My soap box speciality! Sharing not to suggest you apply - although do feel free to too 😊 but to share an example of what a job description could look like. I particularly like: ✔️ the day in the life and is the role right for you slides providing clarity on what the candidate will be doing and what skills are needed. ✔️ Company information at the end - rather than the first paragraph - so a candidate decides on the role before the company. ✔️ Use of colour and infographics for those who don’t like a lot of detail. ✔️ Clarity on where and how the candidate will work. And the salary being paid. For those that are neurodivergent, there are still gaps, however definitely worth a read. #NeurodiversityAtWork

In Shifty, a "Training Shift" is a structured, on-the-job learning experience where a new or existing employee is guided through their responsibilities in a live work environment. This shift is an integral part of the Shifty Training Method, following the “shadow shift” approach. During a training shift, the trainee works alongside a more experienced employee (the trainer) to observe and practice tasks directly related to their role.
