The battle for e-commerce will be fought in #Hungary. The big players from Central and Eastern Europe will take care of it. What's going on? Mostly, it's that the Polish giant, marketplace Allegro, is planning to start selling on the Hungarian market. And they to plan to do so as early as winter 2024 or early 2025. What will this mean? The Hungarian e-commerce market is largely dominated by Alza.cz a.s., the Czech direct-selling retailer, the Romanian company eMAG, followed by Pepita.hu and MALL.HU, which is owned by Allegro. According to David Cikanek, from whom I first heard about this move (thanks David!), the assumption is that Allegro could gain up to 10% of the Hungarian market... It will certainly be interesting to follow this development... Do you have any aditional information or opinions on this situation in #Hungary? Let me know in the comments.

This information is very interesting, especially in the context of increasingly fierce competition in the e-commerce market. Poland's Allegro plans to enter the Hungarian market, indicating that they are expanding their business scope, which may trigger reactions from other competitors. A few points of analysis on this dynamic: Intensified market competition: Allegro's entry may disrupt the existing market structure, especially in the face of Alza.cz and eMAG, which already have a significant share in Hungary. The competition for market share will promote price competition and service optimization, which may be good news for consumers. Increased consumer choices: The diversified products and services provided by Allegro may bring more choices to Hungarian consumers and improve the shopping experience. Response of local e-commerce: Local retailers may increase marketing efforts or optimize products to maintain market share. We may see more promotions and customer loyalty programs. Market potential: If Allegro succeeds in obtaining a 10% market share, this may lay the foundation for their further expansion in Central and Eastern Europe, and may also attract other international e-commerce giants to pay attention to this market. It is worth continuing to pay attention to this dynamic and its impact on the market. Do you have any other views on this situation? Or is there any other information to share? #consumerelectronics #electronicsproducts

According to ECDB data, Chinese e-commerce platforms such as AliExpress, Temu, and SHEIN are gradually gaining ground in Germany’s marketplace landscape, showing significant growth rates. However, Germany remains a secondary market for these platforms due to the strong presence of local players like Otto and Zalando, which continue to dominate with established customer loyalty and brand recognition. Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) has come up with a fresh incentive structure to reward its constituent e-commerce platforms not just on the basis of order volumes, but also on the rate of order growth as the government-backed network seeks to grow daily transactions by 10 times over the next one year. With its innovative approach and commitment to enhancing the seller experience, Kiko aims to leverage this incentive program to boost its order volumes and accelerate its growth trajectory. This initiative aligns perfectly with Kiko's vision to not just grow steadily but also rapidly expand its reach, benefiting both sellers and buyers on the platform.
