We first started development of this system for our Chinese customers but demand for it has expanded to NA customers' product plans as they work to achieve range parity to traditional ICE vehicles. I think the use of Range Externder Systems is a smart idea as a BEV can come with a small battery enough for 80-90% of the needed ranges. By that cost, weight and resources will be saved and at the same time you still have the needed range for 10-20% of the longer trips.
