WBZ | CBS Boston Interview with NECEC President Joe Curtatone on Clean Energy Priorities".✨ During a recent interview with Jon Keller on WBZ | CBS Boston, our President, Joe Curtatone, emphasized the key hurdles facing the clean energy agenda from misinformation to delays in siting and permitting. Cost also remains a significant concern for homeowners, renters, developers, and industries when adopting clean energy. Joe emphasized the need for affordable and accessible solutions to drive widespread adoption. He also discussed the upcoming election and warned that reversing policies passed by Biden would impact the most vulnerable populations—those living in coastal areas, suffering from the health consequences of the climate crisis, and could cause us to miss out on the economic benefits of the new climate economy. In light of this, states must play an even more significant role. This is why NECEC has been advocating for the passage of the Mass Leads Act in Massachusetts. It will be essential for accelerating our transition from fossil fuels to renewable technologies. We therefore urge everyone to continue to vote, advocate for policies, and support candidates that champion clean energy and the diverse climate economy. The consequences of doing nothing are too serious to ignore. Together, we can ensure a sustainable future for all. This week, Senators Joe Manchin (I-WV) and John Barrasso (R-WY) released a bipartisan bill to reform the federal permitting process for energy projects in the U.S. The Energy Permitting Reform Act’s path to the president’s desk is long - the election is only 3 months away - but it is an important marker of progress in addressing a major barrier hindering the United States’ energy security and climate goals. Cy McGeady, Kunro Irié, Ray Cai, and I break the bill down for Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS): #energy #climate #permitting

This is a great article on I-2066, which Washingtonians will vote on in November. It is important to vote NO. As the article explains, the proponents of the initiative (multimillionaires and special interest groups) have been lying about the initiative and current state policy. I-2066 would: - Take us backward on clean energy and climate action; - Do away with programs that help people access energy efficient, clean appliances; - Force new construction to be more expensive; - Raise energy bills; and - Prevent local governments from taking action that reflects what their communities want. Ignore the lies that are being put forward by those who spent about $2.5 million to get this on the ballot and vote NO.
