Special Economic Zone Galang Batang: A New Pride for Indonesia's Special Economic Zone The Special Economic Zone (SEZ), specifically KEK Galang Batang, is proving to be a source of pride for Indonesia, yielding positive impacts for both investors and the local communities by generating employment opportunities and fostering prosperity. KEK Galang Batang, strategically located on Bintan Island, Riau Archipelago, stands out as one of the influential KEKs, functioning as a choke point in the Malacca Strait. Its advantageous location creates favorable business prospects, and it is anticipated to contribute significantly to the national economy through the downstream processing of bauxite. https://lnkd.in/g2QXZ73R

𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚'𝐬 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥: 14 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫-𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 President Joko Widodo has given the green light to 14 new national strategic projects (PSNs) in Indonesia, spearheading economic growth and job creation without relying on the state budget (APBN). Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, revealed the details after a pivotal meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. These projects mark a significant step towards harnessing private sector investment to drive infrastructure development and economic prosperity. Among the groundbreaking initiatives are the development of Pantai Indah Kapuk Tropical Concept, Wiraraja Industrial Estate on Galang Island, and the North Hub Development Project in collaboration with ENI, an Italian oil and gas company. These projects not only promise infrastructural advancement but also pave the way for sustainable economic zones across the archipelago. With private sector financing, we're fostering innovation and efficiency in project execution, ensuring timely delivery and maximum impact. Key government agencies like the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Agrarian and Spatial Planning Ministry (ATR/BPN), and Public Works and Housing Ministry (PUPR) are at the forefront of facilitating these initiatives. Their coordination ensures seamless integration of these projects into the national development agenda. Moreover, collaboration with local communities and stakeholders guarantees responsible land procurement and sustainable development practices. As Indonesia's economy continues to diversify and expand, these PSNs serve as catalysts for inclusive growth and regional development. From Sumatra to Papua, these projects span the breadth of the nation, emphasizing equitable distribution of opportunities and resources. Moving forward, we remain committed to completing these projects efficiently, with 41 PSNs slated for completion in 2024 alone. Together, let's unlock Indonesia's immense economic potential and build a prosperous future for all. #Indonesia #EconomicDevelopment #Infrastructure #PrivateSectorInvestment #NationalStrategicProjects Kementerian Energi Dan Sumber Daya Mineral Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Indonesia's Ministry of Public Works and Housing

I visited the massive Center Point of Indonesia development on my trip to Makassar in May this year. This land reclamation project includes an island shaped like a garuda, though you only appreciate this fact when looking at a map. Having a look at the map, I could already see problems with the road layouts and land use. I will have a full review of the project soon, but first here is a fact sheet of the project, including maps, proposed buildings, and the environmental controversies of the reclamation. 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Exciting news from Indonesia's Statistics Agency (BPS) reveals a significant economic surge in Kalimantan, particularly fueled by the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN). With a remarkable 5.43% growth rate, Kalimantan is witnessing a transformation, spearheaded by infrastructure projects like IKN. This growth isn't just a number; it's a testament to the region's potential and the collective effort driving its progress. At the heart of this economic boom lies East Kalimantan, experiencing an impressive 15.82% growth, largely attributed to the construction activities within IKN. The surge in Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) underscores the ripple effect of infrastructure development, catalyzing growth across various sectors. It's a testament to how strategic investments can unlock immense opportunities, propelling regions towards prosperity. While East Kalimantan shines brightly, other provinces in Kalimantan also play vital roles in the region's economic landscape. Despite facing challenges, each province contributes to the mosaic of growth, with mining, construction, and processing industries playing pivotal roles. Together, they weave a narrative of resilience and adaptability, showcasing Kalimantan's diverse economic fabric. However, amidst this impressive growth, it's crucial to recognize the broader economic context. Despite Kalimantan's strides, its contribution to the national GDP stands at 8.49%, underscoring the continued dominance of Java. This highlights the need for sustained efforts to bridge regional disparities and harness Kalimantan's full economic potential. As we celebrate Kalimantan's economic ascent, let's also reflect on the broader picture of Indonesia's economic landscape. From the bustling streets of Java to the vibrant markets of Sulawesi, each region paints a unique story of growth and opportunity. Together, we chart a course towards a more inclusive and prosperous Indonesia, where every island plays a significant role in shaping our collective future. #Kalimantan #EconomicGrowth #InfrastructureDevelopment #EastKalimantan #Investment #Infrastructure #Mining #Construction #Diversity #GDPContribution #RegionalDisparities #Sustainability #IndonesiaEconomy #InclusiveGrowth #Prosperity
