𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Exciting news from Indonesia's Statistics Agency (BPS) reveals a significant economic surge in Kalimantan, particularly fueled by the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN). With a remarkable 5.43% growth rate, Kalimantan is witnessing a transformation, spearheaded by infrastructure projects like IKN. This growth isn't just a number; it's a testament to the region's potential and the collective effort driving its progress. At the heart of this economic boom lies East Kalimantan, experiencing an impressive 15.82% growth, largely attributed to the construction activities within IKN. The surge in Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) underscores the ripple effect of infrastructure development, catalyzing growth across various sectors. It's a testament to how strategic investments can unlock immense opportunities, propelling regions towards prosperity. While East Kalimantan shines brightly, other provinces in Kalimantan also play vital roles in the region's economic landscape. Despite facing challenges, each province contributes to the mosaic of growth, with mining, construction, and processing industries playing pivotal roles. Together, they weave a narrative of resilience and adaptability, showcasing Kalimantan's diverse economic fabric. However, amidst this impressive growth, it's crucial to recognize the broader economic context. Despite Kalimantan's strides, its contribution to the national GDP stands at 8.49%, underscoring the continued dominance of Java. This highlights the need for sustained efforts to bridge regional disparities and harness Kalimantan's full economic potential. As we celebrate Kalimantan's economic ascent, let's also reflect on the broader picture of Indonesia's economic landscape. From the bustling streets of Java to the vibrant markets of Sulawesi, each region paints a unique story of growth and opportunity. Together, we chart a course towards a more inclusive and prosperous Indonesia, where every island plays a significant role in shaping our collective future. #Kalimantan #EconomicGrowth #InfrastructureDevelopment #EastKalimantan #Investment #Infrastructure #Mining #Construction #Diversity #GDPContribution #RegionalDisparities #Sustainability #IndonesiaEconomy #InclusiveGrowth #Prosperity

Indonesia is developing a new capital city, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), as part of its 2045 economic strategy to promote inclusive growth. Accordingly, the Government is focusing on establishing economic hubs and relocating government offices over the next 10 years, followed by urban growth and positioning IKN as a leading Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) destination. To attract the necessary funding, the Government is and will be partnering with domestic and foreign investors, facilitated through Government Regulation No. 12 of 2023 (GR 12/2023). This regulation simplifies the process for obtaining business licenses and offers various incentives for investors in IKN, including foreign investors, such as exemptions from foreign ownership restrictions, tax benefits, and other advantages. These measures aim to create a supportive environment for foreign investors, though all business actors must first secure relevant licenses from the IKN Authority. Read more about the key investment incentives for foreign investors in IKN through the link below and stay connected for the upcoming ALTA Insight. https://lnkd.in/er8-_hEM #ALTAAdvocates #ALTAinsight

𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 The recent inauguration of the Makassar New Port (MNP) in South Sulawesi marks a significant milestone for Indonesia's logistics infrastructure. With an investment of Rp5.4 trillion, this modern port is poised to enhance the efficiency of logistics costs and reduce dwell time, a testament to Indonesia's commitment to competitiveness in global trade. President Joko Widodo rightly emphasizes the importance of efficiency in winning international competition, and MNP's increased capacity of up to 2.5 million TEUs per year positions it as a formidable player in the region. Acting Governor Bahtiar Baharuddin rightly sees MNP as pivotal in elevating South Sulawesi's prominence as a trade center. The abundance of natural resources in the region coupled with MNP's capabilities opens up expanded opportunities for trade relations with other countries, particularly in agricultural, fishery, and mining sectors. This development aligns with Indonesia's broader vision of economic growth and regional integration. Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi's commendation of PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) for completing phases of MNP underscores its importance as a national strategic project. MNP's role as a major port and hub for eastern Indonesia is crucial for export activities, reducing reliance on ports in Surabaya and Jakarta. With increased capacity and improved dwell time, MNP is set to catalyze growth not only in South Sulawesi but also on a national scale. Economist Professor Hamid Paddu's insights highlight the broader implications of MNP's capacity development. By reducing logistics costs and improving goods distribution, MNP is poised to boost industrial growth in South Sulawesi and contribute to national economic growth targets. However, addressing supporting infrastructure needs, such as toll roads and railways, remains crucial to fully leverage MNP's potential and propel Indonesia towards sustained economic growth. #MakassarNewPort #LogisticsEfficiency #IndonesianTrade #InfrastructureDevelopment #SouthSulawesiTrade #RegionalIntegration #NationalStrategicProject #InfrastructureInvestment #IndonesianEconomy
