The Youth Parliament to the Alpine Convention (YPAC) on stage at the EUSALP Annual Forum in Brdo pri Kranju (SI)! 🇸🇮 Branislav Rauter, Principal of the Rudolf Maister Grammar and Secondary School Kamnik (SI), joined other experts for a panel discussion on a "Youth vision for the Alpine region". 🏫 He presented his school's experiences with YPAC, which Kamnik hosted this year. In March, young delegates from ten secondary schools travelled to Kamnik to discuss pressing issues in the Alps. We are very proud of the efforts of these Alpine youth who are engaging in politics and we look forward to the next session of the Youth Parliament in March 2025! ℹ️ Learn more about YPAC: https://loom.ly/YCaEwX8

I am delighted to announce that our joint article with my esteemed spouse, also my colleague İpek Didem Göçoğlu, and my valuable coworker Atahan Demirkol, titled "Unveiling the duality: Visiting the big questions of public administration education through qualitative insights from Türkiye," presenting a two-dimensional framework we developed and providing some answers by examining these questions based on current qualitative evidence from Türkiye, has been published in Teaching Public Administration! Hear from Andy Mison, President of ASPA, sharing with us some informative views on several critical issues within the Australian education sector: https://hubs.li/Q02q_QQQ0 Our CEO David Riordan put to Andy the following six questions: • What are the implications of the national teacher shortage and what are some possible solutions? • There has been a lot of media across the nation focussing on the cost of sending children to public schools. As President of ASPA could you please let us know your views on this current debate? • The biggest issue facing most Australians at the moment is the ‘cost of living’. How do you think the cost-of-living pressures are impacting on students in public schools nationally? • The Federal Government will be releasing its pre-election budget on 14 May 2024. What would ASPA like to see in that budget? • What do see as being the major education issues that could become a focus in the lead up to the next Federal Election? A huge thanks to Andy for providing us with this perspective.

Listen in to our টং আলাপ (Tong Conversation) 002. This is in a format we are calling 'unplugged', as the technology used is the most basic and the conversation informally flowing and spontaneously growing. The participants are also from a broad range, but mostly people who speak from their world of lived experience. https://lnkd.in/gxRC7mAY The topic of conversation is political party linked student and teacher politics in universities. In the recent Pulse Survey conducted by BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), BRAC University to capture the perceptions based on experiences and expectations of citizens 40 days after the July Uprising succeeded in overthrowing the autocratic government, there were questions on this topic where the overwhelming majority (over 80%) were against student and teacher politics directly linked with political parties. This is a very live topic and central to the way we shape student government, and future political leadership. We will have similar conversations on a few other topics that emerges from our survey. Pls keep tuned in. https://lnkd.in/gJd5UBFG

Alma Mater Press published a new monography, Logopedagogy: A Holistic Educational Approach for the 21st Century. “This is extremely current and relevant content, both at the national and international level, as it addresses the weak points of the educational system in the Republic of Slovenia, which is in need of in-depth and thorough renovation, and at the same time, offers a comparison with some European school systems,” emphasizes the head of the logopedagogy study program at the Alma Mater, Professor Dr Sebastjan Kristovič. Listening to fascinating keynote lecture at our CITP annual conference by Italo Colantone, on the combined role of economic and cultural factors behind the anti-globalisation 'backlash' and the shift to more protectionist policy stances by both left and rightwing political parties. Sobering.

I will be unpacking high school teacher well-being in Namibia Is there a link between well-being, teacher performance and turnover intention (teachers wanting to leave the profession)? I strongly believe that if the teacher feels and functions well, their performance will improve and they will stay. I will be sharing snippets from this conference And as always, it doesn't end there- otherwise the story is very incomplete: My students and I will be sharing the findings and interventions that could come from this with the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture. And it does NOT also end there: Post this, we will avail our time, knowledge and skills to help the schools take the findings to practice (what can they do at individual and school level). This helps students add value to the communities they come from. In Academia- the story has to be told fully, with engagement and an EXTRA dose of excitement. #SIOPSA2024 #WellbeingResearch #UseResearchtoInformPractice #UNAM #DepartmentofPsychologyandSocialWork
