Working with external perception is one thing, but how do we manage the perceptions within the industry? Equestrians participating in sport do it for the love of the horse and also know that the horses they work with love their job. Yet, it's often equestrians themselves who are fast to flood comment sections with unwarranted negativity. 📈 Skiing fast, doing tricks and floating through the anti-gravity zones at Kimbo Sessions gives you some pretty intense feelings. It's bumpy, floaty, hectic, calm, cruisey, vibey, wavey, scary, and stressful all at once. I never experienced having to ski that fast just to cruise through some “chill” park features before. Skiing the Kimbo Sessions park is almost its own genre of skiing that I haven't experienced anywhere else. 💆♀️ It's impossible to describe the feelings it gives me with words, which is why I'm so psyched to present this edit. Imagine adapting to the same COVID-19 pandemic as the rest of us AND the aftermath of a massive volcano eruption—all within a few years. Now imagine that community’s stray animal population. This is the reality faced by St. Vincent and the dedicated team at the Vincentian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (VSPCA). We can help this community and its animals finally see life on the other side of tragedy, but only if we all work together. The people of St. Vincent are a picture of strength and resilience - but they need our help to get their stray population back on track. The VSPCA is a beacon of hope for animals on the island. As the sole animal welfare organization, they tirelessly work to improve the lives of animals through: Spay/Neuter Clinics: Controlling the stray animal population is crucial, and the VSPCA's upcoming clinic in the first week of April is a critical step forward. Humane Education Programs: Educating the community on responsible pet ownership is critical to creating lasting positive change. Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation: The VSPCA provides a haven for animals in need, offering them medical care, love, and a chance at a forever home. Kimberley Khodakhah VMD, CPC , ELI-MP (who spearheads the upcoming spay/neuter clinic), and I recently visited St. Vincent to assess the situation and document the VSPCA's vital work. I created this video to raise awareness for the VSPCA and help raise funds for Spay/Neuter Clinics. We can't do it alone. The VSPCA is entirely volunteer-run, and the recent challenges have strained their resources. So this is where you come in! The VSPCA is looking for passionate individuals who want to make a difference. 🤔 Did you know that the first original clay targets 🥏 appeared in 1880 thanks to George Ligowsky? 👉 Their main purpose was to replace the live pigeons 🐦 that were used at that time, in order to, among other things, lower the cost of the shooting sport and thus reach a wider audience. After trying several times without success 😅 he decided to use a combination of limestone and tar with which he managed to create the first clay targets 🥏 as we know them today. These new clay targets were first used at the New York live bird championships at Coney Island in 1880, in the largest live bird session 🐦 ever held up to that time.
