So, last Friday, Kathryn Brant and I checked out the Corby recycling centre and honestly, I was blown away by the lengths the team go to break down and recover materials. From mechanical methods, to hands-on dismantling, to picking recyclables, it was clear they’re all about keeping materials in circulation. Plus, you could really feel the pride from the MRF manager - it was contagious! There's a growing trend of our manufacturing customers seeking something similar on their sites and lots can be learned from the Corby team. Every day, I’m just more and more impressed with how Biffa is impacting the circular economy and squeezing every bit of value out of the materials we get. #Recycling #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #ResourceManagement

Let’s talk about recycling. Regeneration. Reincarnation. Rebirth. Starting out as one thing, then having a second life as something else. In a way, that’s what circularity is about. It works on a product and industrial level. It also works on a human level. That’s the essence of this film. Two former professional sportspeople, both now working for Faerch, the circular food packaging company, take us on a journey around their worlds. Past, present and (their hopes for the) future. They also make a hell of a case for the redemption of plastic as packaging. The film gets pretty dirty at times but, as befits a food business, it’s all in the best possible taste. Part of our 'In Search of Nyttig Virksomhed' series. #Sustainability #Climate #film #brand #sport

In research from organizations like the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) and Paper and Packaging Board, we've seen that paper packaging is preferred by consumers. And we've noticed more and more fiber-based packaging being used in applications where single-use plastic used to be king. That's exciting to us and our team in Kingsport, Tennessee, where we produce 100-percent recycled containerboard that is lighter in weight and just as strong as other packaging alternatives. Take a look at our recent article on paper packaging innovation, and learn why Domtar's customers don't have to sacrifice strength in their quest for more sustainable packaging: https://ow.ly/NJ9W50TezAG #SustainablePackaging #Containerboard #RecycledPackaging

🎄 Rob Rinder presides over Nestlé Quality Street's trial of recyclable paper tubs 🎄 This Christmas, Quality Street is trialling a new recyclable paper tub in selected Tesco stores across England and Wales. In a fun twist, broadcaster and barrister Rob Rinder MBE is leading the ‘courtroom trial’ of the new packaging, debating whether it can compete with the beloved classic and plastic tubs. As part of their ongoing sustainability efforts, Quality Street is offering 200,000 paper tubs, following their successful shift to recyclable paper wrappers in 2022. The initiative is a step forward in reducing waste, with the brand aiming to lessen its reliance on plastic. Jemma Handley, Senior Brand Manager, said: “We’re excited to be the first major brand to trial a recyclable paper tub at Christmas. Working with Rob Rinder to make a case for this change felt like the perfect way to reassure our customers.” Find out more about the upcoming court trial and Quality Street’s sustainability journey here: https://lnkd.in/e_3PvYKG #Sustainability #QualityStreet #EcoFriendly #RobRinder #Christmas2025 #PlasticFree #GreenPackaging #Chocolates

Plastic really does get a bum rap. We thought that, as far as food packaging goes, it left a really bad taste in the mouth. Or on the planet. Turns out, that in the right hands, plastic is a champion of circularity. Bit like Camilla and Thijs, both former sports stars, who now work for Faerch. So we made a film about them, and the work they and their colleagues do to help the planet. Be warned, the full film is a bit .... er.... dirty. So try this trailer for size. Then when the main feature is released, you'll be ready to go hardcore. In plastic. And if anyone can name the band, they get to watch the full film twice :) Another in the series 'In Search of Nyttig Virksomhed'. #Sustainability #plastic #climate #circularity #food
