"Even though I'm only 15, I take care of my mom, who has advanced heart disease and struggles with fatigue and shortness of breath. I help her with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, managing her medications, and keeping track of her doctor's appointments. Most people don't realize how much help she needs because it's not something you can see just by looking at her. I do all this while keeping up with school and trying to stay involved in activities, but it's really hard. I feel lonely a lot." Sophie's story is not unique. Millions of kids in middle and high school across the country shoulder the dual responsibility of caring for family members while striving to excel academically. Without recognition or support from their schools, many feel invisible to the rest of the world. Thanks to the American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY), caregiving kids like Sophie no longer have to navigate these challenges in isolation. AACY provides resources, advocacy, and a supportive community that ensures these young caregivers are seen, supported, and given the tools they need to succeed. Imagine a North Carolina where every working parent or caregiver has access to high-quality, affordable childcare in their community. Our families would feel more supported and less stressed. Our kids would arrive to kindergarten better prepared to succeed socially, emotionally and academically. Our workforce would be more stable, and our economy would be stronger. This future is possible. We’re part of a growing collective of funders committed to ensuring NC’s children and families have what they need to pursue their dreams, and that starts with early childhood education. Check out our letter in EducationNC to learn why investing in early childhood makes sense, and what solutions might look like. It’s time for North Carolina to renew our commitment to early childhood education, and it’s going to take all of us — a public/private partnership of parents, businesses, government, and philanthropy. Nurturing responsiveness in infancy is a preventive practice toward mental and physical health as a child develops by creating a sturdy foundation of emotional well-being. When caregivers consistently meet a baby's needs with sensitivity and warmth, it fosters a sense of security. These early positive experiences help to buffer against the negative effects of stress and adversity, reducing the likelihood of the development of some types of mental health challenges and physical issues. The supportive environment provided by nurturing caregivers, especially in the first 2 months, contributes to the healthy development of the child's brain and body systems. It can lead to better stress regulation, improved immune function, and enhanced cognitive abilities. By nurturing infants in responsive and loving ways, adults not only promote their immediate well-being but also lay the groundwork for long-term physical and mental health, making prevention a key aspect of early caregiving practices. ➡➡Stay informed of the latest we are doing, to include our ❤24/7 Hotline. 💕💕CLICK BELOW To View/Download Our Donation/Mobile App Link /Hotline info: https://lnkd.in/ggke7e-6 We are a Christian based organization; however, we strive to help anyone in need regardless of Religion or other. RESCUE THE CHILDREN FOUNDATION Email: rescuethechildrenfoundation@gmail.org Phone: +232 79352194 WHAT WILL RESCUE THE CHILDREN FOUNDATION DO WITH A MILLION DOLLAR DONATIONS A million-dollar donation would be transformative for Rescue the Children Foundation, opening doors to numerous initiatives that would profoundly benefit children. Enhancing Educational Opportunities Education is the cornerstone of a better future. With this donation, the Foundation could build new schools in underserved communities, ensuring that all children have access to quality education. Funds could be allocated to train teachers, provide scholarships, and supply necessary learning materials like books and computers. Investing in after-school programs and tutoring services would further support children who need extra help. Providing Safe and Nurturing Environments Safe environments are critical for the well-being of children. The Foundation could use the funds to create safe houses for children who are victims of abuse or neglect. These shelters would offer not just safety, but also a nurturing environment with access to psychological support. Additionally, community centers could be developed where children can engage in recreational activities, learn new skills, and build social connections. Addressing Basic Needs No child can thrive if their basic needs are unmet. A portion of the donation could go towards ensuring that children have access to nutritious food, clean water, and proper sanitation. Programs that provide meals at schools and during holidays would guarantee that no child goes hungry. Additionally, distributing essentials like clothing and hygiene products would help children live with dignity and comfort. Promoting Child Rights and Advocacy Empowering children involves more than just meeting their immediate needs. The Foundation could use part of the donation to promote child rights and advocacy programs. These initiatives would educate children about their rights, train community leaders to protect these rights, and lobby for stronger legal protections for children. Raising awareness through campaigns and workshops would create a culture where children's rights are respected and upheld. Supporting Families Strong families are the foundation of a child's success. The donation could fund programs that support families in need. This could include parenting workshops, financial literacy courses, and assistance with job placement for parents. Providing childcare services and family counseling would help create stable and supportive home environments for children. In essence, this million-dollar donation would be a beacon of hope, illuminating paths to better futures for countless children. It would not only address their immediate needs but also lay the groundwork for a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow. the above is a must to Rescue Children from the hands of perpetrators.

As a fellow organization that is deeply rooted in our community and largely supported through community fundraising, we stand in solidarity with Childhood Connections as they face the heartbreaking prospect of closure due to the loss of their contract. Childhood Connected has been supporting the Okanagan for over 40 years. Their expertise and knowledge of our community are unparalleled due to their longstanding presence. We find it so upsetting that government contracts are so often awarded to the bigger non-profit name as opposed to smaller, homegrown mighty forces of change. This closure of Childhood Connections means that a central lifeline of support for families in Kelowna will be lost. Just two years ago, the organization invested over $500,000 to establish a new Child Care and Resources Referral Centre. This centre is based on incomparable expertise and knowledge of our community’s needs; offering drop-in childcare services so that parents can remain in the workforce, a toy library to ensure all children have access to play and joy and an education hub with resources for childcare providers in the community. Childhood Connections makes sure everyone is nurtured. It is time to make sure this organisation receives some much-deserved support in the face of this unjust loss of its funding contract– the same kind of love and support they have shown us over the years. Please consider signing the petition or attend the rally at Childhood Connections Saturday April 6, 10am-12pm. We call on our government to reevaluate policies around Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that jeopardize long-standing community services like Childhood Connections. These RFPs often result in contracts being awarded to bigger organizations that have fewer ties to the community than fellow homegrown organizations. These transfers of services often have no transition plan or an unrealistic transitional time frame that results in a gap in care for families until the new services commence. We need to ensure that ministries collaborate with our existing services– the organizations that know our community like the back of their hand. Supporting low-income families should not have to come down to politics or money. But unfortunately, that’s what the system ends up bringing it down to through pressures to monopolize and corporatize care. It is just wrong. We ask fellow concerned citizens to voice their support by sending letters to: Renee Merrifield: Renee.merrifield.mla@leg.bc.ca. (250) 712-3620 Karin Kirkpatrick: karin.kirkpatrick.MLA@leg.bc.ca (250) 356-6171 Minister Rachna Singh: educ.minister@gov.bc.ca (250) 356-8247 Minister Mitzi Dean: mitzi.dean.MLA@leg.bc.ca (250) 356-5781 Your voice matters, and together, we can preserve essential community support for families in the Okanagan. https://lnkd.in/gJj-JFV5

https://lnkd.in/ecVqMwXG 5.4 million caregivers under 18 providing care for parents, siblings and grandparents and according to one source "literally nothing out there in the way of government benefits," despite executive actions aimed at caregiving adults. There is some non-profit support, and I would add there are things that can be done through the school system including higher education. This author is focusing on insurance options which you might want to review. I support that, and also community and other institutional intervention, e.g houses of worship, schools, after-school programs. if you are active in any organizations, why don't you put this on your agenda. #newagingpartnership #caregivingconfidential

Mainspring Schools was founded in 1941 as a Works Progress Administration project. We understand the transformative power of public investment in infrastructure. Like roads, bridges, highways, and hospitals, the #earlyeducation eco-system connects and supports the whole community. Today, over 5000 children are on a 2-3 year waitlist for Workforce childcare subsidies, which hits low- and moderate-income families the hardest. Without affordable, accessible early education, caregivers can not go back to school or work. And children do not get critical high-quality, play-based learning environments that are foundational to success in school and life. At Mainspring, 75% of families receive subsidies; 30% live below the federal poverty guidelines; 20% are residents of public housing. On Friday, our class of Shining Stars graduate #ReadyforKindergarten. Today, we are so grateful that #TravisCounty Commissioners voted unanimously for the Travis County CARES referendum, which will fund #earlyeducation and #childcare programs like ours. #WeBuildBrains #nonprofit #publicinvestment #education https://lnkd.in/gP9QdfM2
