🌟 ARC-PA’s Monday Morning Morsel: Keeping Standards in the Spotlight! Welcome to our new series, Monday Morning Morsels, where we share “bite-sized” insights into the ARC-PA Standards to help PA programs stay informed and compliant. 🔎 Today’s Morsel: Standard B1.03e This Standard states that every course syllabus must include: “e) learning outcomes and instructional objectives, in measurable terms that can be assessed, that guide student acquisition of required competencies.” Let’s break it down: 1️⃣ Does the syllabus clearly list the course outcomes? According to the glossary, learning outcomes are the medical knowledge, interpersonal, clinical, and technical skills, professional behaviors, and problem-solving abilities achieved at the end of a course or program. 2️⃣ Do the learning outcomes align with what’s reasonable for the course? For instance, an emergency medicine SCPE might include technical skills relevant to ER settings. 3️⃣ Are there other Standards to consider? For example, Standard B3.03 requires specific learning outcomes related to supervised clinical practice experiences. 🔄 Tip of the Week: Review your syllabi annually to ensure they meet these requirements and reflect all necessary elements. ✅ That’s it for this week’s Morsel! Stay tuned for more insights into B1.03e next Monday. Let’s keep compliance at the forefront and set the tone for a successful week! #ARCPA #PAEducation #ComplianceMatters #MondayMorningMorsel
